Ok, for all of the Rossi haters. He just proved it in your back yard.

He took an I-4 and beat a real engine with 20 more hp.

Discuss.

The tire bullshit really did screw up the race.

EDIT: This has been the best race of the year for first place.

WOW WOW WOW, that was fun to watch! I also loved seeing Hacking right there with Spies, beating about 5 riders!

Congrats to Rossi, poor Stoner.

I am just happy that Americans on CBS got to see some real moto racing. Too bad Casey couldn't hold it for a bit longer.

If gas keeps going up over the next few years maybe we can turn into a moto nation

I had to watch Eurosport and Mediaset depending on who wasn't showing ads.

How bad was CBS commentary?

everyone should be sending KIRO or CBS a THANK YOU for not only broadcasting this, but they are going to broadcast Brno (the next race) Seems they're really giving MotoGP a chance.

Greg White is a dumb ass. "Yeah what you're seeing is the left hand being used for the clutch. The clutch is what's used to shift."

In fact we should CALL CBS and tell them how much WE LOVE when they broadcast MotoGP.

.. Though I just watched the Stoner interview on Italian TV... what a whiny bitch

I hear he is a nice guy... but really whatever.

CBS was bad, but keep in mind they are not targeting real motorcycle fans. I bet commentators were told to chew it down for regular "joe" and try to get them interested. In an established market they would not have to explain how a MotoGP bike has no starter... or that riders wear leathers, helmet, gloves, and have plastic pucks on their knees

Thanks CBS! I was able to watch GP even with no cable to speak of. They ran some really long ads though, way too long for a sporting even.

I haven't watched cable in 2 years, must have lost tolerance. Usually I download GP races aired on Eurosport, but I just couldn't resist this one since it's in our time zone and everything.

yeah i hear u on that. CBS should allow another 1/2 hour of coverage, since the EUROsport coverage lasts about another half hour afterward... but again... babysteps. They know most americans (always go go go, more more more) saw rossi cross the finish and changed the channel

Sadly only about 90,000 Americans know what a clutch is :D

For the rest of this season. This is the last year of MototGP on Eurosport.

The best MotoGP announcers ever... are looking for work.

Thanks! Good vid. I can see Rossi riding that hard to maybe try and get into Stoner's head a little. All in good fun, and in the end Stoner fall all on his own. I was watching his bike move around so so much and thinking -man is he on the edge- while Rossi was not sliding it around nearly as much. We could have seen an interesting finish if Stoner didn't crash - leaving to who managed tires better.

Rossi rides a bike that handles very well with a crew that gets it dialed in every race. Stoner rides a rocket with the best engine in MotoGP but that needs to be chucked into the corners. Laguna Seca is a good track to be down on power. But Yamaha has to bring a real engine next year.
