Eric, Ben told you that Mat was going to be disqualified from a future race?!?

I find that hard to believe, but this does pose some interesting questions. First, what if Suzuki was trying to help Mat win the championship because they knew they were losing Ben next year, but keeping Mat for at least one more? My guess is that only Mat's bike was torn down and that's why Ben's and Tommy's weren't DQed, but what if Mat's was the only illegal bike??

Now that is total speculation and here is some more. What if DMG DQed Mat's bike as partial retribution for Suzuki's refusal to participate in the DMG series next year? They would be ensuring that Suzuki would not have a reigning champion riding for them next year. OK, that's all the conspiracy theories I got for now.

He told you on July 26th that he was planning to run an illegal crank on August 16th and get DQ'd? Wow, no wonder they checked his bike...

edit: Hey, It's PeteN95 from the SV1K forum, 'sup dood?

Jeez, aren't the Yosh bikes fast enough without cheating?

But hey since these teams are willing to risk everything to run polished cranks, they must really be a huge advantage, right? Like if I polish my crank I'll pick 20-30 hp? Let the polishing begin!

And I'm with PeteN95... it's all a consipiracy from DMG to punish Suzuki for pulling out of the series they ruined.

Pete, I don't think they said how the crank was illegal, they just posted a section from the rule book. Did you see that it was illegal polishing somewhere? It could have been illegal polishing, balancing, or modified primary gears, or it could have been a non-factory crank?

Hi Moses.

Well I mostly kidding, and that's why they DQ'ed Josh Hayes, so I just went with it.

Though I am still surprised and disappointed that the top factory teams still feel the need to cheat, and are willing to risk everything in doing so. You'd think what happened to Hayes might "scare them straight" or something, but I guess not?

I agree, especially Yosh, since they haven't lost a race in almost 3 years? I could almost understand the other teams trying to catch them any way possible. I also find it very odd they would only cheat with Mat's bike, but not Tommy's or Ben's?

According to his team, his was the only one that was examined. (Soup)

I'm sure it has NOTHING to do with his outspoken nature and his DMG criticisms...

IN an interview before the Sunday race Spies said that they had made some pretty dramatic changes to the bike and they weren't sure how it was going to work out. I think this had more to do with how far off of Mladin's pace he was than any crankshaft shenanigans that may have gone on with Mat's bike..

He wasn't planning on getting DQed. He just said it was much smoother all the way through the power band. Only gained 2hp on top he said.

^^ That still doesn't really explain why they didn't tear down the other Yosh Suzukis?
