Maladin & T. Hayden DQ'd @ Road Atlanta
Sounds like the Suzuki Brass and & AMA got to terms letting Spies slip thru. Might save some Zook face as Maladin's chances for the title are less hopeful and Spies youth in the sport leaves him with an untarnished record.

I for one am glad to see this come down on Suzuki/Yoshimura. While the AMA is no doubt having it's troubles, It's about time that Factory Suzuki/Yosh get's put on a level playing field with the rest of the competitors.

When the likes of Jordan or Barber can't buy a used factory race winning Zook at any price along with the rumors of Traction Control before it was legal, belief of cheating is only reinforced that they were using illegal, non-factory, one-off engine components which were not allow to other teams.

Even though the Maladin is in opposition to AMA's proposed changes and even though Maladin is as fast as they come in the AMA, Good on the AMA for putting an end to this shit!

Mladin (only one A) can be an A-hole if he wants to, although it has been less often of late. NASCAR and it's many divisions like DMG like to maintain total control and silence dissidents. And I suspect he got into it with Edmondson or one of the DMG guys and this is the result.

OK, does anybody here believe that Spies was running a crankshaft of a different manufacturing process than Maladin or T Hayden?

Yes, I do and here is why. If your bike got DQed one week, why would you expect the same bikes to pass the next week?:

Heres the latest. http://roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=33935

While I do think that both Spies and Maladin are on a level above most of the other riders I do think theres something going on with team Yosh. Kinda like Jeff Gordon in Nascar in the early 90s with there dimpled intake ports. They have figured something out

I'm still not buying it, the whole thing sounds fishy. I'm convinced the DMG is out to get Mladin for being so vocal in criticism of them. Spies has said nothing, and his bike doesn't get torn down? Coincidence? I think not.

Watching the last race after Ben got a stop-n-go penalty for jumping the start, he blew back through the field in no time, motoring past the other factory Superbikes like they were tied to a stump. Yes, I do think Spies is a better rider than the other factory riders. But this was just plain silly, his bike was obviously blatantly faster than the rest. Considering how close all the stock liter bikes are in power and lap times (when tested by the same riders) it's hard to imagine how under the same rules, the Suzukis can consistenly be *so* much faster than the rest.

So basically I'm saying if one of them is cheating, they're all cheating. And the fact that they single Mat out of all the Yosh Suzukis smacks or retribution.

I liked Mladin's quote from a few years ago (along the lines of), "I was beating them when I wasn't on the fastest bike, did they think I'd start losing when I was on a faster bike?"

I think it's been good for Yosh to have Tommy Hayden running on the same bike as Ben and Mat. If all you knew about RockstarMakitaYoshimuraMr.DonutOil-n-LubeHomeDepot Suzuki was Tommy, you'd think they were on flat equal ground with the rest of the field. A number of folks (including Hacking) have said that the Kawi is the fastest bike this year, but it's not winning. I certainly think that the Yosh Suzuki is probably the best all around bike in the AMA, but I think that Ben and Mat are what put it on the top of the box every week.

I also think we're seeing some retribution, since Mat (and Suzuki) have been quite vocal about what they think about the DMG's plans. Ben's kept his head down, but he (or his crew chief) was also smart enough to run an OEM crank the race after a DQ for that violation. Obviously the "visually different" crank wasn't giving Mat or Tommy that much of an advantage.

For sure Dmg is out to get Mladin. Spies keeps his mouth shut because he could really care less about what happens in the AMA next season. I'm hoping Mladin continues to race in another series and I'm sure we'd hear a lot more negative stuff coming from guys like Hacking and the Haydens but if they don't get a ride in the AMA were else could they actually go?
