Should Rossi Retire if he wins in 08?
It looks like his odds are getting better all the time to take the championship this season. The question is should he retire at the end of 08 having regained a small measure of credibility that at one time it appeared he had in spades? or should he stick around and take the chance on further damaging his reputation?

I can't stand guys who retire after a championship.

I think he should keep racing. You should give the other racers the honor of winning the championship, from the champion.

Retain a small measure of his credibility? / Further damage is reputation.
WTF.
get a grip.
He is Hall of Fame material
7 Moto GP World Championships. Soon to be 8 and Stoner is his bitch

Retire, thats totally his call, but he is only 29 years old, as long as he feels the fire, he should race. And I think he will.
He is one smart, fast mofo. Lets see someone own him before you kick dirt on him.

I agree. He has a lot of fire and will continue to race. As far as Stoners crash and messed up hand in Misano..Rossi is tutta bella.

I hope he keeps racing. I enjoy watching his late braking passes compared to Stoners front straight away flybys. But i would like to see him on something other then a Yamaha

Er i doubt he's overly concerned about either reputation, retirement, or credibility. It's more like "I love to race motorcycles so I will continue to do so." kinda like Brett Farve and football.

I think he should keep racing...only 'cause its funny to listen to him talk on the podium after a top 3 win.

The myth of retiring "on top" is total crap. Why should a guy quit so long as he can still compete?

He should continue to race, and rack up a couple more championships to not only cement his status as the GOAT, but to prove once for all to all the haters (*cough* Jason *cough*) exactly who the GOAT truly is.

Oh, and I say he retires now and preserves his reputation as a pretty decent racer who would've finished a solid 5th in the championship behind Schwantz, Rainey, Lawson, and Doohan if he'd raced in the late '80s.

Perhaps, but as I stated in the Ago thread, comparing generations is opinion at best.

Roberts Sr. anyone?...............I keep coming back to him as my #1.....................

Look here, Jason is a commercial (read: professional) fisherman, and as such is highly trained and experienced. We don't need any amateurs like you thinking you can just throw out some cheap bait and call yourself a fisherman.

Wow, busted. I don't even have any defense here. I feel like a schoolboy who just got cracked on the knuckles with a ruler.
