The re-signing of Capirossi and Vermeulen confirms that there is no room for AMA Superbike champion Ben Spies, who is predicted to sign for JiR Honda. An announcement on the Texan's future is expected at next weekend's Indianapolis Grand Prix, when he will make his third appearance of the season for Rizla Suzuki.
Dubya tee eff, mate?

Yes it's a satellite team, but supposedly he gets a full HRC bike with HRC support.

announcers mentioned that last race. Doubtfull he'll get all HRC stuff, Puig is keeping special parts for Pedrosa, including the switch to bridgestones at Indy. While Nicky stays on Michelin.

At least he's getting away from the DMG business

Also, they're sayin Gibber's is confirmed on the 5th duc

JiR Honda has been doing pretty good this year. It's a good team. Best of luck to him.

I hope Honda doesn't treat him the same as they treated Nicky.

Smart move to go to the flavor that has the most MotoGP championships to its name. Suzuki's chance of a MotoGP championship is always slim to none, regardless of rider.

One year on a Honda putting in decent rides might get him a better ride next year. He's going to need a year to get used to the circuits and the environment anyway, might as well be on a non-factory ride.

If winning a World Championship for Honda doesn't get you better ride, why would a few decent races get you one?

I thought that Spies wanted to much money because he's getting paid a shitload by Suzuki in the AMA and the GP team doesn't want to pay him that much. That's the other rumor going around anyways, and if that's true, then I find it hard to believe a Honda satellite is going to pony up the kind of cash that the Suzuki factory isn't willing to give him.

Definitely some crazy silly season stuff going on this year.

I lost some respect for Spies when he punked outa Assen, sorta like when old balls pulled of the track at Laguna.

It was an exhibition race for him, and he basically had no dry practice time at all on the track. He made the right choice to instead focus on his "day job", and in addition get a little extra practice at Indy.

An exhibition race with alot of eyes on him............ maybe even eyes that were on the fence for hiring him, who knows. Maybe it showed that if all stars were not aligned........ like the suzuki seri....errr I meant the ama series then he was just another mid pack man looking for lot's o' loot.

Honda needs something. Hayden and Pedrosa are not cutting it. Good for Bennie boy.
