| Endorsed Joined: May 2010 From: Berringham preeze? I Ride: '06 Yamaha R1 Raven | I hadn't seen that picture yet either, pretty much the ultimate example of wrong place wrong time. I read a summary of the press conference from the Moto GP race direction. [URL="http://www.crash.net/motogp/news/174331/1/motogp_race_direction_holds_simoncelli_press_confe rence.html"[/URL] This helps shed some light on the situation, it really seems there was nothing that could be done for him. I strongly doubt that he felt any pain, which is comforting to know. As for him low-siding it does appear that he almost had saved it and just couldn't pull himself back up, which would have been absolutely superman-like. At the angle he was taking he would have definitely gone off track had he not been struck. His determination and refusal to quit is what caused him to perish, which is nothing short of amazing and makes me respect him that much more. |
