Body position class with Rob Burch
Yesterday I had the opportunity to meet up with Rob Burch (The Motofit Group) at Kawasaki Bellevue to learn a bit about body position on his mobile lab. Rob came all the way up here because he knew I was frustrated with my right cornering ability. He worked hard to give one on one instruction, so time was tight, but he gave me some different plans of attack to try out this next season. I am extremely glad I took the time to go out there. Rob is a very informative guy, who has been around a racetrack a few times. I cannot wait to try out what he recommended, and look forward to a Motofit Group trackday. Thanks Rob!

It's not really the type of stuff you can write out. Its more show and tell

There was this great thread on BARF awhile back about body positioning. A lot of guys were saying, "Oh, [this great rider] and [that great rider] rode all fucked up. It's okay!" Then, some of the fast guys from the AFM chimed in. What became of the thread was basically this:

If your body positioning sucks, you have only one to two things to do when the bike begins to to get out of shape. Zero things to do when the bike gets REALLY out of shape. With proper body positioning, not only can you carry more corner speed, get on the gas sooner, and brake later, you have about eight to ten things to do when the bike begins to get funky. You can also save, with proper body positioning, a pretty bad fall that you wouldn't have otherwise been able to save.

Drive with your head...it's worth it!!!

You are spot on Wade. Rob attributes walking away from his frame snapping incident to his proper position on the bike before entering turn 3 at T-hill. By pushing the bike to the left, hanging off to the right, something happens, you and the bike go separate directions.

Ron indeed a informative rider/instructor. His advise to me at the TNC body positioning session was very helpful..
