I have never tried the priceline thing, always assumed it was a gimmick. I will try it. I would imagine you were in far greater danger riding through LA than you are dealing with Montana wildlife. I've never been to the southwest other than airports, but I want to now. Thanks again for posting this, I will print it so I can read it over and over. |

I have saved literally thousands of dollars on rooms. The way to do it right is to create two accounts each with a different email address and credit card. That way if your original bid is too low, you can counter with the other account right away and not have to wait the 24 period. HOTWIRE is a complete fucking scam, stay away from them or you will be very sorry. |

I could just see it in their eyes when they said to me "Oh park right over here and we will watch your stuff" Yeah, watch it disappear... |

Except that I need to send my ride in for a 12000 mile check before I leave I think. it has 10.5 now but by the time I get back it'll likely have 13.5 or so. I'll have to look at your route again. For my trip I kind of have to make rapid progress towards SW Colorado (Durango area) but I am thinking if I make fast pace to Utah I could hit some of the stuff you did out there... do you have it set into google maps by chance? I've made a few long ones myself, but your pictures and narrative are superb. One question (well two). How the heck do you get all that gear piled so high on that bike? Do you have some sort of tall "sissy bar" on the VFR? Thanks for the report. |

I saw your gun in the first picture (Glock 26/27?), whats the legality on carrying across state lines? My buddy is planning a multiple state trip next year and we were discussing carrying across states. But neither of us knew the legality of it (im pretty sure Wa CPL doesnt transfer to too many states). |

Excellent pictures, I almost felt like I was there. It was also a treat to read such articulate and entertaining text accompanying the pictures. I'd hoped to do a similiar trip this summer, but instead I've been building a small backyard shop, which has taken most of my $$$ and time since February. |

And for anyone curious about carrying firearms into other states Handgunlaw.us is a great resource. |
