Trip to Yellowstone
Took my daughter on a little ride to Yellowstone before school started logged on 2518 miles in 5 days with only about 275-300 of them on interstates the rest were old two lane or forest access roads and one small problem. Bike got hit by a 84 yr. old lady no one hurt(bike was parked) bike recieved just cosmetic damage.

Thought I'd share some photos

little cabin we stayed at one night

I saw alot of Harley's, and adventure tourer type bikes, and only saw about 12 sport bikes the entire trip.

The park has a speed limit of 45 through most of it with some areas 35, and the rangers use radar to patrol.

How many different routes are there through Yellowstone? Are there any particular routes that are better than others.

You mentioned the rangers use radar to enforce speed limits...is there any good roads even worth speeding on?

Should one assume if they ride through Yellowstone, it's for strictly the scenic route?

There are 5 entrances and about 7 main roads in the park, nothing worth speeding on.

We found more animals in the North East part of the park. The whole park is very nice with a lot of different things to look at.

There are about six places to get fuel and snacks in the park. Our first day we put on about 275 miles in the park stopping everywhere to check things out.

Dang I wish I would have gone through there on my recent cross-country motorcycle road trip. Do you have to pay a toll to drive through the park??

I'll load up some more.

Fee was $20.00 for a 7 day bike pass, It would be real easy to spend a full 2 or 3 days there if you like to hike a little.

Wow Mike, I've been hoping you'd share some pics. That's awesome, I'm very jealous. Next summer my girl and I are going to take a trip over there, although we'll cage it. It'll be awhile before I have a Vstrom like bike of my own!

Those are great. I need to get to yellowstone before it blows up...I just watched a discovery channel special about how yellowstone is actually on top a huge volcano that would totally F*ck some shit up if it were to blow. On a lighter note, have a great night.

Excellent, excellent pictures!! I wish my photo skills were as good as yours.

I rode to CO in August and spent a night in Grand Teton and one in Yellowstone. You are correct that you don't want to speed in the parks. Lots of law enforcement and they are looking to pull people over. However, once you get out of the parks, there are some great roads for ripping up. Wyoming and Montana are nice since there seems to be little law enforcement and they don't seem to care about speeding near as much as WA/ID/OR.
