Newbie here but I wanted to get in on your discussion about best burgers. I live in Spokane, so I have eaten at Zips, Dicks, D'Lish, etc.

I have to say between just those three I would have to go with D'lish over the other two.

Dicks for really cheap greasy burgers. You can feed a family of 4 for under $15

Zips used to be good...but they have gone the way of the other chains.. burgers seem to be cooked at around 6am, and are just sitting under a heat lamp till noon or later. I find that at most big chains these days.. namely BK.

Grew up in Yakima and have been to Miner's many times... but not recently though. Their burgers are big, but from what I remember, nothing that special other than their size.

where is Big Bubbas? and I've never heard of Allyn either.. are they in Western Washington?

I will be in Western WA over Labor day weekend.. and I'm looking for a killer burger... need suggestions. I'll be staying South of Seattle.. but willing to drive anywhere within 30 miles of there for a killer burger.

went there last year, courtesy of a places to visit in washington type book. their burgers are good, but not worth the miles it takes to get there. it's been so long i don't remember exactly what they taste like, but can't have been spectacular, otherwise i might.

went to Red Mill today after someone mentioned the place to me or i found some mention of it a while ago.. i forget which. the wait is something they don't really mention on their web site but the burger (had the Verde Burger + onion rings ) was quite good. the onion ring batter was great and the rings themselves were more like slabs than rings since they are cut so thick.

for cheap bites, i still find Dick's cheese burgers to be the best value. Reasonably tasty, less messy, and the places are open until 12ish(or is it 1am?). whereas a lot of the places just serve old leftovers, Dick's has enough turn around most of the burgers they serve are pretty fresh cooked. the Deluxe is pretty horrible though, so IMO simple cheese burgers are where it's at.

kinda off geographically but best burger in eastern oregon is at the "Meat Hook" in burns/hines, great great burger. only 4.95$ half pound of meat any way you want it.... personally medium well is the best, they tend to go a little rare. add another patty for 2.00 and cheese for 1.00. absolutely delicious

Slims Last Chance chili shack in Georgetown has the most unholy 1/2 lb chili burger. Close to home too.

Drifters Sports Bar & Grill at the Kingston Ferry has a pretty good double bacon cheese burger and large selection of beer on tap to wash it all down.

No Vegetarians please...
On the east side...gotta' be going there to get there: try Fast Eddy's in Walla Walla....600 West Main street. An old style drive-in with car hops and unbelievable selection of burgers. Biker friendly with picnic tables for our dining pleasure. Also feature Walla Walla sweet onions...can't be beat.

Great thread..no vegetarians here! Heard a comedian once say: "Show me a guy who claims to be a vegetarian, and I'll show you a guy trying to $%& a vegetarian!"

Agreed: But it may just be a good burger tastes a little better knowing im A: about to go up Mt. rainier on the bike, or B: I already went up Mt. Rainer on the bike and get to go through the section between Alder and Elbe again.

Old Towne Cafe on Main Street in Battle Ground Washington. Everything they make is homemade. They get all their meat from a rancher. Best I have ever had. The service is excellent as well. Prices range from $5.00 to $6.00 for a burger, fries and a drink. They have philly steaks as well & breakfast. I was told everything is good there. I have only tried their burgers.
