I Ride: 2008 Bandit 1250 & 2007 Triumph Bonneville
Smokey Point, Darrington, Sedro Woolley loop
I am new to the group and saw the post about the Lake Cavanaugh Rd ride.

My buddy and I jumped across the boarder and did a nice loop yesterday .

530 to Darrington (once he got the visit to the local HD dealer done with.... don't ask) had some nice but too occasional twisties. The pavement was dry and the surface was good. Very little traffic and plenty of passing opportunities.

Just before Rockport we took the Concrete Sauk Valley road and followed it and then south Skagit hwy back to SW. Lots of nice corners with tempting straights but the pavement is a little rough and some corners had some wet leaf syndrome. Hardly any traffic and only one pylon to get around.

Unfortunately, we had to abandon the planned return via hwy 9 as the daylight was gone. Stuck to the boring but predictable I5 back to the Peach Arch crossing.

I rode the Triumph Bonneville but next time I will pull the new bandit 1250 out of the garage as I could have used the extra passing power, especially on 530 and the ABS may come in handy with all the debris.

Lots of nice roads in WA and now that I have a Nexus card the boarder is not an issue. I will monitor the site and perhaps I can hook up with some "locals" to get to know some other fine rides.

Cheers,
