Seeing the word venue I'm imagining something more like a bunch of bikes lined up all shiny on Stephens or Harvard or something. |

We could tell stories, we could roast marshmallows, we could... ![]() The sort of thing that lets folks meet each other and introduces other passerby riders to the fact that there's a local group, etc. |

| Training Wheels Joined: Apr 2009 From: Roseburg, Oregon I Ride: Ninja 650 | I'd be down for a bar for a meet and roast marshmallows type night but on a ride night I wouldn't want to tempt myself. I drink enough as it is, don't want to mix my two hobbies. Frog burgers, are good, but they are almost more legend than substance among the locals. Still, I remember my parents bringing them home for sis and me since I was old enough to eat hamburgers. |

It should be someplace visible.... highly publicly visible.... 1) to raise awareness about our little club, 2)to raise awareness about motorcycle riders anyway, 3) to possibly have some other roseburg strays join our little group 4) best keep it to family friendly places so Elijah and his girlfriend can play too.... |

Not as in drinking and driving. You get the idea.So this Friday May 1st is more of a rainy-day get-together. The bike night thing would be an all-ages deal. That way we COULD go on a ride afterward, etc. so on. so forth.

Frog burgers, at The Jersey Lilly, were excellent when I lived there, but that place is not very public. Unless it's moved, it's on a backroad that doesn't get much traffic, and there's no way to keep an eye on the bikes while inside. Both Sonic and Pete's are good for being outside with the bikes. I don't know where Sonic is in Roseburg, but Pete's is on a pretty well traveled road. I'm with you that it should be family friendly, so anyone can attend, plus, it would be good to have windows if you're going to be inside so that no one can mess with the bikes without being seen. I'll keep watching this thread so if I'm going to be there for one of your bike nights, I can bring my Yamaha down for it. Have fun.

I don't get a vote since I don't live there, but I'd meet you guys anyplace if I'm going to be there on the right day. I might even plan a trip to be there on the right day... I think I know where you're talking about. Is there a Los Dos Amigos restaurant on one corner, and Clint Newell Motors on the other? Is the Sonic across from a Chinese buffet restaurant in front of the strip mall? If so, that's a really busy intersection. Just about anyone out driving in Roseburg will see you there. I miss it down there. Is the weather getting warmer yet? I can't wait to come down again. It's been several months for me, and it was cold still when I was there last. |

| Training Wheels Joined: Apr 2009 From: Roseburg, Oregon I Ride: Ninja 650 | It was my fault, young and dumb. Still young, still dumb..anyways. I went there after the grocery store got a hamburger and fries and was eating when it dawned on me I had cold beer in the back seat. I rolled up the tinted window on my truck and was discreetly enjoying a cold beer with my burger when the detective/waiter came up. It was probably the combination of the fact he was kicking me out and the ton of attitude he gave me while doing it that prompted me to "return" my food. He was not impressed. |

... and nighthawker, I'm with you on the shade. No health problems with the sun for me, but when it's above about 65, I'm only in the sun long enough to walk between shady spots. Last edited by a109driver; 05-01-2009 at 12:12 AM..

Hey, if they kicked us out, it would be their own fault. I'd like to see what they think when they discover that riders stick together and watch out for each other.
