Just got my right side slider puck reattached, I'll be there....

the brake came in today but I'll probably wait till Saturday night or sunday to mess with that...

Going to need some stuff first and take off the humongous rearset... but at least I can adjust the brake light while I'm there...

Jeesh, I certainly hope so. We had a blast! It was sure great meeting everyone. What a great group of bikes and people.

Gwen
Staci had fun too, sort of. It's hard to stand around and talk bikes when you're ten.

My daughter is 11, as soon as I can wrangle another helmet up I can bring her along when there is a chance Staci will be there...

Sounds like a fun time. You guys still meeting on Saturday at 2:00? I have my trailer ready to load the R1 in the morning and head down there in the afternoon. I'll have my whole family in the minivan. We'll look like the Beverly Hillbillys with a Yamaha in the trailer. I don't know if any of them will come with me to Sonic on Saturday, but I've got an 11 year old boy who likes to ride with me.

Great bike night, Roseburg Riders! Nice to meet Reece, Mary, Gwen and Stacy (sp?) And great to see you Jim! Serious about my offer, btw.

And another cool thing-- those other misc folks that strolled up and got engaged in chatting about bikes and riding.. saw the gleam in a few of their eyes.. very nice.

I only lived in Roseburg from 1988 to 1992. I never had a bike there, but it seems like there were good bike roads in nearly every direction. You guys probably know the best for a smooth, spirited ride. What's out west of town, towards the Callahans? I don't mind riding a little above the limit, but I don't want to break any records. I've got to have a completely functional body to feed my kids.

I figure I can get out for 3 hours or so without the family missing me too much. Do you guys ride for a while then go back to Sonic for food? Do you normally go longer than that?

We have done anything from short rides to long rides.

If you are looking for the 3 hr range, Cow Creek is always good, although I would expect heavy traffic this weekend. You can also go to Elkton by the river, out to the freeway, down a bit, then east toward Elk-something, which if you take the right roads will dump you out in Sutherlin.

You guys need to take him on the North Bank -- Buckhorn -- Roberts Creek route. That would be a nice tour. Then Winston -- Lookingglass -- Flournoy Valley- Melrose -- Melqua -- Garden Valley back into town.

A nice sampler.

I did make it with the bike in the trailer. I was jealous on the way down every time I would see someone riding theirs. I'm doing some family stuff in the morning, then will be at Sonic about 2:00.

Any of the suggested rides sounds good to me, and I'm all for avoiding the traffic. I've been on a few of the roads mentioned, but never on a bike, so I'm sure I would enjoy any of them. Those pictures are great! See you tomorrow.
