I'll be working. Trying to get another group endorsed and well, somewhat ready to hit the roads on theirhttp://pnwriders.com/images_pnw/editor/separator.gif own bikes. So, honk if you go south by the fairgrounds. It's so helpful, especially if we're trying to give directions.

I don't know what the image thingy was in the middle of that post. I certainly didn't mean to put it there. Computers are alive and going to take over the world! Or at least my mother-in-law's has locked her out and is doing it's own thing again this week...

Ok, I'm an idiot. Wrong weekend. T.O. class not till next weekend. Whoohoo! Hubby is out cutting hay, so might not notice that I'm gone. The kid is cleaning her room, so can't interrupt that. It'll take her all three days to do anyway. Hmmm, gotta a paper that needs to be written, but can procrastinate just a bit longer, and can worm/vaccinate sheep tomorrow. Think I'll run away on the sporty after all!

So, will work on entering and exiting corners and learning how to ride. Maybe with a few other "beginning" riders that I should happen to meet at Sonic. This guy popped out of nowhere and is making all sorts of rude remarks with this holier than thou attitude. What did you do Mr. Moderator? Hire him to stir us up just for kicks? Yeah, and about that comment about a new thread Thurs...

(I love that little smilie. Reminds me of the Loyal Order of the Waterbuffalo)

So, how about it Nighthawker? Cold enough for you today? It was a bit chilly when I ran up to Rbrg earlier. Will try it again here in a second with a sweatshirt as an extra layer. Some day, I have got to get a heated vest!

It was a blast. Thanks for letting me join you and putting the pictures up. I can't believe it's cold for you. This was about the warmest ride I've ever had in Oregon. You guys live in motorcycle paradise here. You're surrounded by awesome roads. I'll let you know when I'm coming back down. I know I'll want to do more riding around here.

I'm thinking it's too nice to trailer the bike back on Monday. I might have to send my family in the van with an empty trailer while I ride up the coast on the bike.

no no no.. its not EVER too cold for me. back in the day i got a very serious sun burn and another a couple of years later.. as it is now.. anything over about 65 degrees is too hot. the sun burns me from within and it physically makes me sick. it can be sun and heat or just heat or just sun, doesnt matter. its tough to explain. today, the longer we sat in glide the worse i felt..we were running late but the heat was the big reason we(i) had to roll home. the ride home wasnt quick enough and we moved. its now 4 hours later and i still feel not right.
anyways.. blah blah blah blah... im glad to get to ride today and to meet a new one. come back soon!

that was a great ride today, weather and temp were perfect!! Good to meet A109driver, at the intimidating voice would look just like Bill Goldberg!!! On the way home I met a guy on a flamed out Harley and told him about our bike nights and the forum.... Maybe he'll show one of these days...

I must have misunderstood something above. You need to ride on the coast. The sun doesn't shine as much where I live, and it's never as warm as here. We only see 80 about 3 days a year. Most of the time it's in the 60's.

If any of the Roseburg riders ever show up on the north coast, I could show you some fun roads there, although we don't have as many as you guys do.

I don't know, there are some pretty wicked looking roads inbetween your neck of the woods and Portland... I think its highway 53?? and also one that goes south from Clatskanie....

Hwy 53 is a good one. It takes about 15-20 minutes. South from Clatsakanie is highway 47. There's a great video on YouTube of a guy riding 47 on an R1. It's probably one of the best rides in the NW corner of the state. We've got a few good roads, but you can see most of them in half a day.

One dissadvantage of the coast is that you can only go east from there. North and south are lots of traffic, and the cops to the north (WA) are pretty ruthless. You guys can go any direction and find nice backroads with little traffic. I will be back to explore more of them.

we do have some pretty good ones, though if you are able to ride down next time, there are several roads along the way that are definately worth checking out...

Do you remember that I noticed the dead bugs on your bikes and helmets and asked if you guys had already been for a ride? I have to clean mine off daily when I ride to work. This pic is after a 60 mile ride home from work. I can barely see where I'm going.

I've gotten to where I will clean my visor off at every stop if I can...

Sometimes, when I know the bugs will be thick, I'll put an old sock over my left glove with a hole in the sock to go over my thumb. I'll use the sock to wipe bugs off while I'm riding. I've also kept a rag in the left pocket of my tank bag, and pulled it out to wipe off my visor, but the wind tries to take it from me, so the sock works better.

I'd be afraid the darned bug would just smear further across the surface. I have a microfiber goggle rag that came with a parka, somewhere, that works great for drying off after washing the faceshield.

Burgers and drinks on erickb! That's a splendid idea actually. Plus you can ride around and around the Sonic parking lot and stuff doing wheelies and other various stunts, in flip-flops and a tank top. We're trying to bolster the local image of motorcycling anyway.. LOL.

Yep and three bikes did come. I posted on the wrong thread...

Gadzooks, Staci and I were there. Then three folks came in on sportbikes. I forget the name of the one guy who bothered to introduce himself. The other two were too good for us cruiser types.

Well can you blame them? I mean, everyone knows Harley riders are the REAL snobs. They were probably just afraid of rejection.

Oh please! They talked to Caleb, and probably assumed the sporty was his. He tried to take it home instead of that cute little twin of his. Plus, I know my daughter isn't a snob. We were the least pretentious folks there last night.

Oh, and he has the camera phone, so hopefully he'll get the pics up. There were pics taken, so hopefully we can prove that it did happen. Hot though.

I'll vouch for you. I was there on a sportbike last week, and everyone was friendly to me. You guys are laid back.

I saw three sportbikes heading east on Harvard around 8-ish Thursday night, maybe later. I wish I could ONCE run into some of these guys and get them on here.

Caleb's Korean IS cute. However, I think he's turning Japanese I think he's turning Japanese I really think so.
