Southern Oregon PNW Campout Extravaganza?
What do y'all think about getting with Medford and KFalls and maybe Eugene and Bend for a weekend of camping and chaos?

See this thread

I think probably August or something. And maybe a Friday/Saturday/Sunday. You're talking about the campout, right? Keep an eye on that Medford thread for more details until we firm something up.

Ok...I went and looked at the Forest Service Campground website:

http://www.recreation.gov/camping/Di...ex=CampingSpot

Looks like reservations are taken from June 13 through September 7. During the reservation season there are 145 campsites available for reservations, and 95 campsites available for first come, first serve.

It appears to me that its all paved which will be awesome for our bikes. If this happens..I'm gonna trailer the bike up with my truck and fill the back with all my camping gear and such.

Has anybody thought about some day rides? Crater Lake is obvious....but are there many twisties up there? 66 is pretty far to the south but still do able in a day obviously.

Looks like this gaining monentum....my best month to do this right now is August. I'm going to Laguna Seca for the Moto GP and I'll be at the Gorge for the Sportbike Rally. Any other weekend though is pretty good...including two weeks from now.

Who else is in ?!?!?!?!

Another possible day ride:South on 230 to the Crater Lake jct, then continue south on 62 to Prospect, then on past Lost Creek Reservoir, south on Crowfoot Road to Butte Falls Hwy,then through Butte Falls back to Prospect, and back to Diamond Lake...

Ok...it looks like everyone is starting to lean towards August. Here's what I'm thinking:

Friday August 14th to Sunday the 16th

Thats two weeks after the Sportbike Rally in the Gorge which I know a number of us are attending.

I'm more than wiling to semi-take the reins on this thing and kinda play head coordinator if needed. Right now, most of the campsites are available but I'm sure they'll book fast as everyone is doing the "staycations" this year.

So whatya say guys Aug. 14-15-16 ?!?!?!?!?

Same weekend as Desert Dash, and I'm homesick for the High Desert. You guys have fun. If the campsite is on the way to Burns, we'll swing in and say "Hi".

That's only the north half of the campground. Is that the half you're thinking of reserving your spot in?

on that ^^^

We want to initially get A001 thru A008 , B001 thru B003 and C001 & C002

For the late committers...just on the othe side of the road that splits up the two campgrounds there are a TON of sites that are just yards away that is first come first serve. Those are like K001-K020

So I've committed and gotten A003...Start booking guys so we can cluster together !!!

3 way split? I can bring my big 5 man tent....

Looking at the site it only has a max number of people set at 8... not number of tents you can set up....

I changed my mind. I don't want to have to figure out the whole "pole to pole or hole to hole but no pole to hole" business. I will bring my 2 man for me.

What site do I get? Or am I just pitching in on Cascade's site?

BTW I might have an "in" on shitloads of firewood if someone wants to drive a truck. If I had a trailer I would trailer the bike and bring all the supplies, but alas........

I *might* be able to wrangle a non-rider into driving up in his truck with goods and beer, as long as we are OK with him and his wife coming along.

We should definitely hit up Prospect to Tiller into Canyonville and back up. That is an AMAZING ride.

Crater lake would be fun but a bit slower-paced.

I'll have my own tent, but would prefere to go in on a campsite rather than reserve one of my own... partly because of finances and partly because I don't need that much damn room....

Anyone want to recon the campsites this Sunday and provide real pics for these threads??

Sounds like great time and great way to meet more people on this end of the valley. Just booked a spot, I will have truck & guys will have bikes so I will have room to haul food & beverages etc... Let me know how I can help. After spending week at Laguna and coming back to shop backlog we will need a party. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Some of us may need to throw a thing or two there in your truck on your way through the burg if you got the room....

I'm fishing with my dad at Odell this Saturday, and was planning a recon mission right after that for this very purpose. (gotta find a spot long enough for my truck and boat)
