Anybody want a true "Muscle Bike"? Local Ebay deal...
This thing looks like a fantastic example of a V65,and it's just South of Grants Pass, you could ride it home...

If I didn't already have 3 Sabres in my garage I'd be all over it...

More power than any reasonable human should want on 2 wheels, and the Sabres handle well,too...

That is beautiful! Plus it is color matched to my other bike. Just wish I could spend some of the savings to get it, but without a full-time job next year...

Go get it,Paul. From reading the ad I got the impression that if you went and rode it,you could probably offer him the starting price and drive it home...Email him for a phone number...Then turn on the charm...

If you find it's too much for you, maybe we can work a trade for one of my 700 Sabres...

But seriously,25 years old,less than 10K miles,121 bhp,6-speed tranny,triple discs,what's not to obsess over???

If you test ride it,make sure it doesn't pop out of 2nd ....

If you want,I'll let you take my Sabre for a putt next time we meet,so you can see how they handle...

Here's another good one, even has the impossible-to-find Hondaline fairing with the even-harder-to-find lowers... http://eugene.craigslist.org/mcy/1224196884.html

For the budget-minded,this is how I ended up with what is now my high-performance,way-too-f***ing-loud Sabre... http://eugene.craigslist.org/mcy/1233090986.html

On a related note,is there anybody in Roseburg that sells muffler packing material???

Starting prices are LAYME. $1000. It's more than I have. Like $1000 more. But yeah. Also, I'm not sure about the rake. It's a teensie bit chopper-ish. Just a wee bit. other than that, pure bad-ass. Just like I want.

Cascade,the Sabre is a Sport-Tourer,it's the Magna that's vaguely chopper-like...

I know. I wouldn't touch any of those with a 13.4 foot pole. It looks like the rake on the Sabre pictured is slightly different than that of the CB, or the Suzuki GS of similar style.

But it might have just been an optical transfusion. Either way, I'm inexplicably fantasizing about that damn bike. Oh, to be rid of a monthly payment...

Make it happen, Kirk. I'm in love.

I'm tempted to buy it at that price just to have it.

I think you're already being drawn to the purity of the light,Cascade...

Besides, when you start out on an "Appalachia" or whatever that thing is called,it's bound to warp your judgement just a tiny bit...

All kidding aside,I am putting all my good Karma toward having it work out,as per your PM...

Seriously, thanks for your kind thoughts. For the record, I've always liked Honda. My first ride was a 1980 Hawk. As long as Kevin doesn't come along and foul my plot, there may be a happy ending. Well, happy endings include RSVR Factorys and things like that. But as good as can be considering my circumstances.

Ohhh, the evil moderator can bust a rhyme!

I was sort of looking at that one Sabre that doesn't keep 2nd gear. How about it Kirk? You know much about the trannys on the darned things? Lets see, project bike or horses to the dentist? Decisions, decisions...

I think he already has one that does that. LOL. And I'm considering taking on the project. He doesn't know it yet.

Well fine then. I was debating offering a bit lower and grabbing it... Oh well, the husband came home, so probably shouldn't.

There's enough power in those motors that you could just skip 2nd easily. That said,I do have the shop manual for the Sabre...

That one is out of my range for sure. It sure is pretty though. Hmmm, 1st and then double shift to 3rd? Possibly.

Reminds me. I need to email an author and chew on her for a bit. She wrote in her novel that the heroine missed 3rd in shifting a Ducati Monster. Uhhh, bikes don't have shift patterns like cars you nimrod! Do some stinking research before you write it!

Bidding has ended on it. So, who took it home? Cascade? Did you do that after bumming Gymbo's ride?

I tried on the naked ninja this afternoon. Scary how nice that one fits. I like the blue too. Then tried a couple the other sport-type bikes they had at Hobies. Now, gotta get the sporty paid off, get a real job, sell a horse, maybe some sheep... A 2nd bike in the yard might be a nice touch. Hmmm, gotta get a bike barn thingy too. None of them should have to sleep out beneath the stars every night.
