Aggressive how, because they have a certain look to the rain grooves?

I guess since a lot of riders based tire purchases on look and how 'aggressive' they appear, they're doing a good job.

I would assume these are much cheaper than a comparative Pirelli tire.

This would probably be a good stunt tire, but I wouldn't have faith in it until someone like L.A., ghost rider (not of this forum) or Del? (forget his handle) approved it for general street use.

We need a sacrificial dickhead first!

Looks nice. I probably wouldn't mind a tire like that on a streeted bike. Shinko bought their motorcycle tire manufacturing process from Yokohama in 1998. Over the past decade, I know that many people have been using their 003 for drag racing. I installed a 005 for a friend, not too long ago. Now, if they'd only make a good SuMo tire...

On the track, I tend to stick with the tried and true compounds. There's just a little room for correction, and I don't need inconsistency getting in the way. Then again, I don't know that they make any track compounds.

Reading around on the forums, people generally liked the Shinko tires. I can't say for sure whether it'll be on par with bridgestones or michelins, but from what I'm reading, it's a pretty good tire. They'll be my next purchase.

Read some reviews... I've yet to see one where the tires let go enough that the riders lost confidence in them. (mostly the 009 ravens) The ones posted above are supposed to be a long life tire like the 009's For something more like the 005's they are coming out with these:

Softer street compound....

Try looking for the 008's, they are a racing slick.... They may be good for track use but I haven't heard anything, but i don't know that people have tried them. I would be curious how they would stack up against the commonly used brands...

I was hoping to check some of the tire specs before responding, but Shinko's website is down. The general consensus on the Shinko supermoto slicks is that the tire carcass is way too stiff, and the compound is too hard. A superbike slick in a supermoto size does not a supermoto slick make.

Anyone see the new Pirrelli Angles and Demons tire? I'm thinking definitely a marketing thing for those who are going for the track star look. Are there poser sportbikers too? I guess the angels scrub off pretty quickly leaving only the "demon" part of the tread. There was a write-up in the latest Cycle World.

I found a track review for the 008 slick.. testing ended with a high side after the rear stepped out.

It gets good reviews with the drag racers.

The ravens have really good reviews for street use, but I like the Verge's looks better... either way my skills don't exceed the tires ability so they will be fine for me...

The write up in Sport Rider was not too good:
