We were just talking about tire mounting at the last Bike Nite. I take my rims and tires to Logtown Choppers in Dillard. 1-dismount, 1-mount and balance + lead is 20 bucks. He's done a couple for less. Nice guy.

Nice to see you are "almost" back and "almost" on the road.

There's always Nighthawker if you can get ahold of her, i think she still has the stuff to do it, was about $20 for both as i recall.... unmount/mount and balance, and of course your not needing the first half....

Can't help with that one, but the silver in the background - no problem. My folks painted their old Porsche that color. The new owner is going to paint it white... *face palm*.

Yeah, not the gray of the car in the fore ground, but not the liquid silver of my parent's car. Why do you want that ashy gray anyway? It just seems, well, nondescript after the silver and yellow BMW. I know I'm one to talk. My "brilliant silver" Sporty strikes me as seriously plain jane. That is, till after I wash it and the sun hits it... I do like brighter more brilliant colors though.

Look at gun metal gray if you have not already. Did a '56 chevy in it and that color rocked. pd

Contact your local Porsche club and see if they are able to help you out with the color name at least. Most of those guys have a buttload of info and are more than willing to assist. You should be able to make contact through Porsche forums or Blogs.

Then off to the interweb!!!

Good luck with the project. As someone who is also in the middle of a restore/mod/repair, I know it can be a pain in the butt to find this type of stuff.

The first is called Fashion Grey and the second is called Beige Grey

I really want the fashion grey but can't find any paint manufacturers who make it, except for Behr at Home Depot for home paint. I might have to have NAPA make me a custom color.

Varment, I think you need to adjust your monitor

Try looking for Porsche and VW paint codes in that color. If your out and about, stop by Industrial Finishes on Walnut and see if they can help you there.

I think if you have that paint code and you know the year and make of the car, that should get you the color you want. Have you tried taking that info to an automotive paint shop?

I'll have a spare 190/50 17 tire with plug hole in it, if you want to put a good patch on it and run it, I'll make you a good deal.
