I had purchased the Icon Patrol winterjacket and the patrol waterproof boots and these two items made all the difference in the world. It was 30degs the morning I left and we were going through frozen fog. There was ice building up on us and my carb was starting to ice over. Other than the poor visability we felt good because we were fresh and excited to hit the road. Once we hit ashland the sun broke through and it was still bitter cold and windy but I felt great under my gear. infact the chilly wind felt kina warm to us when we stopped and got gas. After we crossed the boarder into CA the weather was fantastic. 80degs when we got into Redding. If you want the rest of this story its in the main forum Coming back we got gas in yreka and the sun was just starting to set and it was 37deg. It was dark as soon as we hit the passes. I don't know how cold it was up there but the roads were covered with black ice and now on the sides. We just coasted down in second gear while suv blew by us. It was 31 when we got into ashland and at that point it felt likemy electric gloves wernt working. I can't even imagine how cold I would have been if I didn't have the electric gloves. My feet were cold but they wernt bad and my jacket did a great job of keeping me warm. in that kind of weather electric gear is a must have. But I was really impressed with how well the jacket and boots did. The boots are kinda bulky and it took a bit to get used to shifting and braking with them on. But they kepts my dry an warm. Icon patrol gear gets a big thumbs up from me! |
