You need to pick up a GS1100 or something like that. Like this:

http://eugene.craigslist.org/mcy/2781911731.html

Or there's this in Classifieds:
2001 Kawasaki ZX6E rolling parts bike

So I narrowed it down to 2, Insurance said NO to the ZX10.....

2003 Katana with less than 2500 miles.... $3600

2007 Kawasaki Z1000 with 5xxx miles..... $3800

I'm liking the Katana myself.... Anyone have any thoughts as to why the Z would be better?

IMO, that is WAY too much money for a Kat. I hope it's at a dealership and not private party? If it is private party, odds are good carbs will need work. Personal experience.

True, kbb retail is about 3100.... but thats also factoring in almost 30,000 miles...

Kawasaki is fuel injected katana kinda fat and ugly. Kawi looks nicer.

I have not been a fan of Z1k's (Ugly) or nekkid bikes, but it is beginning to grow on me...

I thought about fuel injected vs carbs, faired vs naked, 750 vs 950, read a few reviews on the both of them...

I was looking at a z1000 when I got my f4i and the only thing I didn't
like was the exaust, but put a 4 into 1 i'd be very happy with one.

The z1000 is much newer technology and much better deal imho. The katana is much older technology, worse suspension and heavier as well, but offers better wind protection.

If I was having to make this decision, I'd go with the Z. The ugly exhaust is fixable. The short coupled, fuel injected fun-factor on wheels is priceless. It isn't even the orange and white one, so not a tweak to the male ego. Though I'd ride the other colored one, no problem. It'd just need an OSU sticker on it to be totally awesome!

The Kat would mean less drool from me, and no harrassment about letting me take it for spin around the block... After-all, I haven't bugged you about that battery charger, so you know, a favor could be called in...
