Wow, that sucks man. Are you going to buy your bike back from salvage? See if DMV will let you register a bike with salvage branded title, someone told me you can't, but I know you can on cars/trucks. Insurance pays off the bike and you buy it back for like a couple hundred bucks.
Here's to a speedy recovery!

You can register totaled bike without problems. If you cannot buy it from insurance company I can help with insurance auctions. I have access to all of them.
Let us know if you need any help.

Daniel, buddy ole pal... When I'm ready to go shopping for the next bike, can I count on you for some help? Those auctions that require dealer licensing are a problem.

My cousin is a dealer and he charges me small amount for doing that. He has access to salvage, clean title auctions, cheap delivery service.

Dangit Mel! I'm no doctor but that first X-ray made me cringe a little bit. Ouch! Keep us posted on the recovery.

Update
Well I had an appointment with surgeon yesterday. They took a few new X-rays. He said every thing looked pretty good and I am healing. Unfortunately I have to maintain the weight restriction of 25 to 30 pounds max on my left leg for at least another month until I see him again. That did not thrill me but at least I am healing. There is evidently two plates plus screws holding me together.
I thank ALL of you for your concern and well wishes.

Wow Mel. It does look much better to this lay person, from the first one. Follow the doctor's orders even though they suck. You don't want to screw it up and set things back in the healing process.

Thumbs up My Helmet
This is what my helmet looks like now. I t did it's job well and I had no head ache or sore neck. I don't remember hitting the back of my helmet.

Well, I saw the surgeon Wednesday and he said I could start putting weight on my left leg. So I have been walking around the inside of the house using a cane. I'm still a little shaky and slow with with the cane so I will still use the walker for a while when I go out in the world. I have an oak cane my father made in 1983 that I will use when I have mastered it's use.
