Wow, that sucks man. Are you going to buy your bike back from salvage? See if DMV will let you register a bike with salvage branded title, someone told me you can't, but I know you can on cars/trucks. Insurance pays off the bike and you buy it back for like a couple hundred bucks.
Here's to a speedy recovery!

You can register totaled bike without problems. If you cannot buy it from insurance company I can help with insurance auctions. I have access to all of them.
Let us know if you need any help.

Daniel, buddy ole pal... When I'm ready to go shopping for the next bike, can I count on you for some help? Those auctions that require dealer licensing are a problem.

My cousin is a dealer and he charges me small amount for doing that. He has access to salvage, clean title auctions, cheap delivery service.

Dangit Mel! I'm no doctor but that first X-ray made me cringe a little bit. Ouch! Keep us posted on the recovery.

Update
Well I had an appointment with surgeon yesterday. They took a few new X-rays. He said every thing looked pretty good and I am healing. Unfortunately I have to maintain the weight restriction of 25 to 30 pounds max on my left leg for at least another month until I see him again. That did not thrill me but at least I am healing. There is evidently two plates plus screws holding me together.
I thank ALL of you for your concern and well wishes.

Wow Mel. It does look much better to this lay person, from the first one. Follow the doctor's orders even though they suck. You don't want to screw it up and set things back in the healing process.

Thumbs up My Helmet
This is what my helmet looks like now. I t did it's job well and I had no head ache or sore neck. I don't remember hitting the back of my helmet.

Well, I saw the surgeon Wednesday and he said I could start putting weight on my left leg. So I have been walking around the inside of the house using a cane. I'm still a little shaky and slow with with the cane so I will still use the walker for a while when I go out in the world. I have an oak cane my father made in 1983 that I will use when I have mastered it's use.

Arrow Long Overdueb Update......
First I posted a couple of things in the Classifieds area.
Well I'm still alive and can walk the Triumph is long gone (it was totaled by the insurance co.). Still not pain free and have trouble sleeping but since about 4 or 5 mounts after the accident I have been able to do some of the thing I need to and enjoy.
On a more pleasant note I'm scheduled to have a total hip replacement of my left hip on January 07 2014. Pray that Obamacare doesn't stop it by saying I'm too old to waste the money on. I basically have no cartilage left in my left hip and developed arthritis there almost as soon as they let me walk on it. This should be a walk in the park compared to the accident and the probably will have me walking on it after I wake up from the surgery. I should only be in the hospital three days and then back home. My wonderful wife won't have to do every thing for me this time. I'm looking forward to being comfortable again.
As far as riding again, not on two wheels. I have been trying to soften up my wife up to Spyder RS-S but I'm not having much luck so far. If I get a good settlement from the accident from ODOT I'll push harder. They either have to settle in 2014 or go to court.
Ride Safe Friends!
Thanks from SkiPunk11

Wink My new hardware upgrade......
Mel.69.9

Roseburg

Well it is five weeks to the day and I have been walking around the house unassisted for about three of them. I still use my fathers cane he made when I go outside and in public. I ventured out to the gun show last Saturday with a good friend and made it around the show without the cane although I'm still using it most of the time when I go out. I drove to Freddy's Monday by my self to get a valentines present for my wife with no problems. I still won't be driving my pick up for a while because it is a six speed stick,
The surgery went well and they had no problems with the existing hardware getting in the way of the new hip. They had to go in from the side to avoid the old hardware and the old incision. Which made me more susceptible to an accidental dislocation for six weeks than normal. I'm still pretty sore and having some trouble sleeping but it all gets better from here with time and healing.
The tubes and cylinder in the X-rays were for drainage and came out before I was discharged the third day.
I wasn't able to go see Pineapple Dave while I was there unfortunately So I hope he is doing well.

Good to see you healing up. I hope ODOT does the right thing (not holding my breath), so you can persuade the Mrs. to let you look at another ride.
