i did.. had to quit due to the heat. 130 degree track in leathers and a helmet was trying to kill me. its ok though. i did far better than i ever thought i could, beat several of the high HP high $ programs and had a terrific time doing it.. i cant wait to see your goldwing!!! | |

| Pit Crew Joined: Apr 2009 From: Roseburg,OR I Ride: 1984 Naked Goldwing 1200,1984 V65 Sabre | It's definitely the brightest orange anything I've ever owned,but it is a custom job,and the guy that did it put some time in it.I bought it that way.Saw it on CL,and my first thought was"What a gaudy POS!I wouldn't even be seen standing near that monstrosity".Then,over a period of a couple months I watched the price drop,and I kept looking at it,and finally I just had to own that bike...So I got it...It'll keep me safe from myself.... And personally,I think the Superbike school should be mandatory for anyone that buys a performance bike...I know the things I learned there so many years ago have saved my ass more than once on the street... I've been riding since 1955 legally and a couple of years before that on the sly. My current ride is a BMW R 1200 RT and before that an 1150 RT. I may or may not make Thursday evening but plan on showing up next Saturday for sure. I live between Tenmile and Camas Valley. Nice site I think I'll enjoy it. Marty |

| Pit Crew Joined: Apr 2009 From: Roseburg,OR I Ride: 1984 Naked Goldwing 1200,1984 V65 Sabre | Gwen,it's a bit,well,"weathered" looking.What my Sabre needs is someone willing to do a tear-down,detail cleaning,paint job,(tank,sidecovers,etc.),and re-assemble...However,as,hopefully some other V-4 addict will attest to,the fairing and other factory accessories on that bike are VERY hard to find nowadays...And I have an "extra" fairing,complete with mirrors and lowers,and a couple of extra windscreens...So,it's a project just waiting to blossom.I was originally thinking of a "Blackout" look... Glad you made it,Marty...Joe's semi-final game is at 11am tomorrow at Legion Field,if there's no rain I'm taking the Wing,wanna watch some baseball?? |

It's funny,when I decided I wanted to put a fairing on the Sabre I couldn't find one anywhere,then all of a sudden I had 2... I do think the Hondaline fairings are the best for that bike in terms of windflow,small like a sport fairing,but with some storage like a Windjammer,and it keeps the wind away rather effectively at hwy speeds... Now I'm seeing on Roseburg CL that a local guy has a V65 Magna for $1500...that is the other bike I have always wanted besides my 84 Naked Wing...It's good for "domestic harmony" that my garage is so full right now... That said,I wouldn't "mind" having a fully-dressed V65 Sabre,either... |
