Yea, there HAS to be lots of riders in Pasadena...I mean Roseburg (just LOOKS like Pasadena to me). I'm one of those old farts that has more bikes than $$$. I ride a '04 GSXR 1000, a '01 R6, a '01 DR650, a '07 CFR450R (new to me), a 1983 Honda 650 Nighthawk on holidays & parade night and am turning a Ninja 650 into Streetfighter style. Also Vintage '75 Honda 250 Elsinore that I bought new, a '68 Honda 90 and a '70 Hodaka Ace 100 which needs resto. Love the twisties, Douglas Co. has some GREAT riding street & dirt. I have 16 acres in Winston and love the country. Sure beats the So. Cal. city life!! So, YEA, where are all you riders??? Ponderosacycles@hughes.net Patrick |

| Training Wheels Joined: Oct 2008 From: Winston, Oregon | Hey, Cascaderider. Yeah, we should do a ride. I'm up for Sunday 10-12 anytime. Cold, but I can layer up. Last year at SBNW in Stevens WA., I rode an Aprilia RSV Mile' 1000. HOLY S--T!! Going through a set of turns at 5 mph faster than on my GSXR1000, and that was the first time I had ever even seen the bike. Rode a Falco in Monterey at the Superbikes race in 2004 & was very impressed with the ergos. I WANT A MILE !!! |

![]() I have not ridden a Mille but would like to. The ergos are great on the Falco; even more comfortable with risers like I have, though I may stick the factory clip-ons back on this winter just to see how they feel. There's a nice Mille for sale in Grants Pass, on consignment. See AutoManiaGP.com.

| Training Wheels Joined: Oct 2008 From: Winston, Oregon | Hey, all. I took a ride last Sunday to Shady Cove out Tiller-Trail Hwy. Sunny, but chilly. I'm willing to meet anywhere nearby with cascaderider & the good Drmedak and any others for a ride IF it don't rain. Coast or inland. I'll check this tread more often. Funny how most riders my age are on cruisers and just how few miles they put on. I went 162 miles Sunday and stopped at Johny's after to find 4 cruiserbikes with a total of 22 miles between them. Who rides and who poses???? |

I ride that road several times a year, lots of fun curves. SC is a cool town, BUT be cool. The cops are watching. I run the river on my Tahiti every year, too. FUN!!! |

I am looking for something to do some sport touring. I have looked at everything from the Ducati's to Gsxr's to Aprilia's... mostly looking for trade until it sells... I am looking for a literbike, or like a 900ss, etc... the DR is great for mostly long dirt rides, and may actually be as good as the XR in that category, but for anything under 100 miles on Dirt or street I would go for another Husaberg.... I am looking for a 200 plus mile a day bike otherwise I would be keeping it. |

| Training Wheels Joined: Oct 2008 From: Winston, Oregon | Hey, Russ, that PC does look very comfortable. Thats why I like my Bandit 1200 for longer rides and passengers. Nice seat, upright position, knees not in knots (not that I mind that on the GSXR). Can't help move this wknd, but I almost envy your folks. In a m-home, you can go where & when you like, follow the sun. But you NEED a bike on the back of it! Have fun. |

my dad just dosn't feel comfortable on the bike (he's always had cruisers) and the seat on this is a little tall, handlebars don't feel right for him, ect... hopefully he will pick up another bike before too long. I will probably ride it for commuting this winter, and use it to teach my girlfriend how to ride (unless I sell it/trade it for something for her)

| Newbie Joined: Oct 2008 From: Roseburg, Oregon | Just picked up your post on craigslist, I'm riding a '99 Honda Shadow 600 because the wife wanted to ride with...but my heart really lusts for a sport bike! Sold my project '84 Honda Interceptor to my brother who got it running in a week, whatever. Had my endorsement for almost 10 years before finally getting my bike so I'm pretty stoked. Mostly ride to work because that's when I get the chance to, what with kids soccer practices and wife working and all that other nonsense. But I would like to get out more for sure. |

Post up if it looks like we can get together for a quick one maybe Saturday..AM?? I'd sure love to see that Falco.. |

This is the R6 I have for sale, as it looked last year, now with new paint. I'll post pics of the new look in classifieds soon. Sure is a fun bike to ride, corners well, runs great. This pic is at PIR, turn 9, just passed that Honda on the back straight, entering turn 7. FUN stuff!!. Also have a pic in personals of me with my Gixer, welcome to check that out, too. Also, got my cycle lift last week, now I'm just like the big boys. Got tired of bending over to look under the bikes. Raining this weekend, maybe get a ride in next weekend, hope so. We made the loop around North Bank road from Dixonville. It was awesome weather for a ride but we went the wrong way on North Bank because the sun ended up in our eyes most of the way! Can't complain though. |

| Pit Crew Joined: Nov 2008 From: Myrtle Creek, OR I Ride: HD 1200C | Who am I and what do I ride? My name is Gwen, and I ride a 1200 C sportster. (insert "Hi, Gwen" here) I tend to ride rain or shine and go anywhere there's a road. I think a wet 40 degrees is my bottom limit for cold, until I get the heated vest and stuff. I am a school teacher for my real job and a new Team Oregon instructor for fun. However, I'm a much better rider now than I was when I started the instructor stuff. I've been riding off and on since '91 and that was with an '82 Nighthawk 650 (miss that bike), a '93 Ducati 900SS and a '94 DR 350S. The Sporty has helped me regain that confidence that I used to have with the old Honda. It sure is nice to find a bike that fits both physically as well as emotionally. (hint - I am vertically challenged) Someone said something about cruisers with 22 miles on them and posers. Well, I've had the sporty since April Fool's day last spring, and I've already put 4,000 miles on it. Don't have the fancy leathers and stuff, but I'm out there on the road, with a big S#$t eat'n grin! Gwen Last edited by gfeero; 11-09-2008 at 02:26 PM.. |

| Pit Crew Joined: Nov 2008 From: Myrtle Creek, OR I Ride: HD 1200C | The sun was out, were you? Hi Cascade, Thanks for the welcome. So, anyone been riding during the brief sun? I was out on Wed. Had a meeting in Roseburg, where we were warned that parking would be tight. (There was my excuse to motor) Then had to run up to school for another meeting, then back home. All in all, a nice round trip of about 80 miles. All I saw out there were two other Harleys. Hmmmm. I'm going to assume they were the real deal and not posers. I've never switched out handlebars before, just suffered with whatever was on the bike. I recently got the sportster back from getting new bars and some new grips and I am a happy camper. No more shoulder strain. I'm so short, that the stock grips had me leaned over the tank like a sportbike, but the forward controls had my legs stretched out front. A bit awkward, and I'm sure I looked like a dork. So, now that it truly is a comfy ride, I'll be out there more often. Just be sure to wave if you see a fat chick on a silver sporty with an even BIGGER Grin! |
