Taken from the Statesman Journal:

Motorcyclists arrested in separate speeding incidents.

Two Salem motorcyclists were arrested Saturday afternoon for traveling faster than 100 mph in separate incidents, according to Marion County Sheriff's Office.

Deputy Ryan Postlewait made both arrests.

The first incident happened at 2:14 p.m. along Quinaby Road NE. Postlewait observed a 2008 Suzuki motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed. Postlewait caught up to him as the motorcyclist pulled into his residence on Clear Lake Road.

Dustin Hubbard, 32, of Salem told the deputy he was test driving the motorcycle from Cycle Sports. Hubbard was taken into custody on charges of reckless driving and traveling 104 in a 55 mph zone. He was transported to Marion County jail.

The second incident happened at 3:35 p.m. on Howell Prairie Road. Postlewait observed a motorcycle go through two stop signs without stopping. The deputy clocked the 2009 Honda going 108 mph as it turned onto Sunnyview Road, and then west on State Street, where it passed an SUV in a series of blind curves and no passing zone.

The driver, Bradley Solliday, 38, of Salem was arrested on charges of reckless driving, reckless endangering and driving 108 in a 55 mph zone. The reckless endangering charge stems from the fact that Solliday had a passenger.

I wonder how fast the officer was going to catch someone going 108??

seems a big heavy cop car would be more of a danger then a motorcycle at those speeds

Wasnt me...Its too cold for me to ride

As long as his wife gives me the green light.......For reals though. I better stop giving him a bad time. Anybody that can hook a corner at triple digits then draft an SUV is a God in my book!

It couldn't possibly be you. You ride a Monster, they said 108mph. It just doesn't connect.

I can't help but notice the ages of the riders, both in their 30's, and the way some people talk (in general) its just the immature 20 somethings that do shit like this.

We do stuff like this well into our 50's! Why? Because we can. SRWitt it's understandable why you wouldn't do something like that. You ride a big fat Buell. Just having fun with you. LIFT IS SHORT, PLAY HARD IF YOU CAN

MCS Traffic team is a bunch of wieners too afraid to do some "Real" Police work! They need to spend some time up in Woodburn with WPD and take some notes on how the "Good" Cops do work!!! Dont we have the OREGON STATE POLICE for traffic enforcement??? Doe's the MCS Traffic Safety Team know they are taking money out of the OSP's and all the other local agencies in Marion Counties pocket? How many Self Funding agencies are there in Oregon? How about the whole US??? I thought ticket fine income was supposed to be used to re-invest into our community? Go down to Auto Additions in Salem(By Cycle Sluts), there you can see MCS hard earned money getting spent at the Police equivalent of "West Coast Customs". Here in Salem, the word "Community" only applies if you have some sort of badge! Unless your a Salem Hooligan... We dont need no stinking badges!!!

Wow...Toddles,thats harsh. The passenger is an adult, well aware of her risks, wich is not very high considering who the rider is. Food for thought... If Person X is faster WITH a passanger than ALL of the rest of the alphabet, What does that say about the rest of us letters??? Sorry, im not trying to be a jerk,Im having a stressed out week...Im up at Dournbeckers in Portland, my nefew got hit by a car and was life flighted up here yesterday,He's going to be OK thank God, but last night was pretty sketchy. Thanks for listening to me vent. Todd, You can still put my unit in your mouth whenever you want

My best and prayers are with your nephew right now!. (and also praying you can find that thing you call a dick). If there is anything you need up there. Just holler! (and no I wont help you find your wee-wee)

Shit happens I guess. You play racer on city/county streets, sometimes the man will get ya. It's part of the risk, which is part of the reward.

108 mph 2-up is not that fast once you've done 135 mph 2-up and 160 mph solo.
Just trying to keep it in perspective.

I agree with the poster who said that adult passengers are aware of the risks and possible consequences. After all, isn't riding all about risk vs. reward?

NOT ME..55 stay alive is my motto.. at least as far as my wife and kids know :-)...I agree with the questioning "how fast was the cop going to catch up to 108?" I know we all see a lot of wrecked cop cars at the cop shop on cordon rd, yet they are the ones that are "the professionals" WTF??? where's the logic in that?

Alcorn,
sorry to hear about your nephew. Hope all goes well for you all.
Ironlung should put your unit in his mouth just for sympathy and overall general purpose.
