I had some things to take care of that I couldn't do during the day so I went up to Silver Falls alone in the AM. I am heading to John Day, Pendleton, Heppner, Dufur, Hood River, Breitenbush, Detroit Dam and Home next week so will miss Wed. again - ss.

To everyone else:
This is turning out to be a good group of riders – all good natured and well mannered. Though I’m one of the older guys, I am new to the sport and have a rudimentary skill level. On these Salem rides the pace has been swift but not overly aggressive and when the faster riders take off, the only pressure for slower guys like me is the pressure to ride my own pace (prudently) knowing all along the fast guys will wait for me and encourage my progress. – Very Cool.

As a result of riding together my skills are increasing. All the encouragement has been greatly appreciated. I hope more of you will join us for this mid-week two-wheel celebration.

i completely agree with what matt said !!! i think you are tackling the "learning curve" the right way .. and i think your new skills are better than you give yourself credit for .. you are humble in that aspect of your life and i like that .. far less people would get hurt if they came into sportbike riding the way you have .. its been a pleasure ,see you next week

I’ll be riding this Wednesday (9/12/07) and am hoping to see a few more people show up. We meet at 6:15PM at the Circle K on 12th Street (Just north and down the hill from the 12th and Madrona intersection) and leave at 6:30PM.

I think we’ll be riding to Silver Falls starting in Salem and going to Silverton then riding from Silverton up to the falls and then back over to highway 22 – opposite direction from our last couple rides. I’m hoping to talk my fellow riders into eating dinner in Stayton (Ixtapa at 111 West Locust Street - Great Mexican food) before cruising back to Salem.

This is a good group to ride with. Everyone is good natured, cordial and enthusiastic.

Great! So far that’s five of us and I’ve invited a couple other riders also – we should have a really good group this week.

Since my girlfriend Julia can’t ride because she’s in a cast after hitting a deer in Hells Canyon last month (bike burnt to the ground!) I’d like to invite her to drive to Stayton and join us for dinner at Ixtapa. I figure that, with a stop at the falls, we’ll be there about 8PM for dinner.

Justin, I know your girlfriend rides but doesn’t have a bike right now. Do you think she might want to meet for dinner too? (Two six-foot-tall girls in one restaurant - cool) Mike, your wife and son would be more than welcome of course. And Matt, please invite only ONE girlfriend at a time!

If anyone objects to this just chime in; let me know and it won’t be a problem. After breaking her leg and hand, having screws placed in her ankle and being stuck on crutches this last month I think Julia would enjoy being around some fellow riders for a change. If any of you have significant others who’d like to join us for some excellent Mexican food then the more the merrier.

Please give me some feedback.
