Where can I find cheap quality gear where I don't feel like I have to take out a loan to purchase it for my bike or myself? ![]() |

Everything seems to be a bit pricey for everything, for example, I purchased a pair of mid range gloves and it was 65 bucks. I am not a cheap person but this stuff adds up quickly. I guess you can say I am looking for deals, a fair price versus feeling like I have to take a loan out to buy something. |

If you can spend a ton of money on something that could end your life...it should be worth a fraction of that to buy stuff that could SAVE your life. On that note, check out the closeouts at www.newenough.com They usually have some decent stuff. |

| MotoGP Champion | I think motorcycle gear is pretty reasonable. For instance, I bought a Road Gear textile armored jacket for $150. It is strong, pretty light, waterproof, full of zippers, vents and pockets, comes with a liner to make it all-season, is fully armored. It's amazing what $150 can buy, especially when compared to a bicycle jacket, that is $200 and is made out of lycra panels and one zipper. Bicycle cleats cost at least $100 and more often around $200. You can buy a good set of motorcycle boots for $160 to $270, and they offer four times the leather, are armored and will last for years. |

The only way you'll find cheap quality gear is on Ebay or Craigslist. Find someone with good gear that is getting out of the motorcycle buisness. I have purchased some sweet Dainese items off ebay for half price of new. If you don't invest in good gear you may end up making a substantial envestment several times the price of your bike and good gear into the medical industry? Something to remember: Walking away in disgust is better than riding away in an ambulance! |

| beansbaxter is too lazy to come up with something but he will get to it, eventually... ![]() | Those are cheap gloves. Mid range gloves would be in the mid $100's. Expensive gloves can easily reach $250. Why are people so willing to spend $6000 on a bike but then cheap out on the gear? Spending that much on something that can kill you but then skimping on the parts that could save your ass makes no sense to me. Again, if you're willing to spend $6000 on the bike then why is $1000 for the right gear all of a sudden exorbitant? Since you're doing the right thing tho and asking questions I'll throw out my recommendations: Helmet: $300 (midrange shoe/suomy/arai) Jacket: $300 (mid range leather/high end textile) Gloves: $100 (mid range leather gauntlet) Boots: $150 (street riding boot with ankle protection) Overpants: $150 (textile summer/winter combo) |

When you need it, you really need it! Remember as you shop. This Gear is going to protect you from the road. From riding in an ambulance, or getting up and saying "Im glad I spent the $$$". Yes, its expensive. But, dont go cheap! Its your Butt your talking about! Ask 'Bimjo'. If he didnt have all the Gear, he would be MUCH worse off. | |
