| Endorsed Joined: Oct 2008 From: Des Moines, Washington | Shoei Pinlock Shield install and review I just installed a pinlock visor on my Shoei Rf 1000 helmet. I LOVE IT! I cannot make this thing fog up at all. I think the system is way over priced but is worth the money to eliminate helmet fog. It was pretty easy to install and only took a couple minutes. The downside to this is that you have to buy a new shield with the pins. If they sold the pins seperately you could drill your visor and install them yourself, but they don't. I guess you could call Shoei and they could send some. I paid $35.99 for the Sheild and $26.99 each for one clear and one dark smoke "anti-fog lens" from www.motorcyclesuperstore.com The pins are eccentric so you can fine tune the position of the lens once you get it installed. I have tried the fog city lens that just sticks to your visor and this is way better. It does not distort your vision and just simply will not fog. So... ![]() the downside is that it takes a little while longer to change inserts than it would to just change the visor. But the upside far outweighs that for me. |
