I Ride: When I can
09 SR! Rally INFO!
From: SR! Rally Team (rally09@soundrider.com)

Sent: Fri 1/30/09 1:49 PM
To: James1300

Greetings, As the winter progresses, the promise of warmer riding weather appears on the horizon. And with that comes the opening of Registration for the 2009 Sound RIDER! Rally in the Gorge (Sportbike Northwest, Sport Touring Northwest, Dualsport Northwest and Maxi Scoot Northwest).
The 2009 rally is shaping up to be a good one from all four sides. The dates are Wednesday July 29th - Sunday August 1st.
We've already lined up a number of special guests speakers this year including Reg Pridmore, David Hough and Ramey Stroud.
We are presently working out a series of on road clinics (no extra charge) that will focus on subjects ranging from cornering and body mechanics, to after market accessories and even travel photography.
These rolling clinics will be run by members of Puget Sound Safety, Cascade Endurance Center and a number of industry veterans.
It's one thing to take in a seminar at the fairground, it's a whole other thing to experience the information real time on the road! More details as they become available.
The KTM Factory demo truck is going to be on hand with all their latest street legal road and adventure models for you to ride. We're working on more. We've added an extra day to the event, but we're holding the admission rate at $99!
We're adding another Dam Bike Barn to the mix on the fairground so we'll essentially double our indoor parking availability. We've also shifted the rally dates from August into July to increase our chances for better weather and capture more vendor interest.
And hey - we'll be celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Sound RIDER! so expect some great fun in store.

Reg Pridmore comes to Sportbike Northwest - A consecutive three time AMA superbike champion, Reg Pridmore was the first rider ever to win in his AMA class. Following his retirement from road racing, Reg opened the CLASS Motorcycle School in California running track instruction classes. In 2002 he was inducted into the AMA Hall of Fame and in 2003 his book, Smooth riding the Reg Pridmore Way was published by Whitehorse Press. He continues to run his track school today. Reg will present several clinics, run an open forum Q&A and do book signing during the event.

Manufacturer Demo Rides - Come ride the latest models from several top manufacturers. Choose from more than a dozen models and experience them in an open road environment that you just can't get in the city.

Rolling Clinics - It's great to take in a seminar onsite during the rally, but our rolling clinics will provide you with useful information you can work with real-time while on the ride.

Need Tires? - All Moto Tire will be taking advance tire orders on a pre-sale basis so they are ready for you when you arrive at the rally. You can order your tires and pay up front to have your tires mounted for free (off-bike) when you arrive. All Moto Tire will have a limited number of race stands for customers to remove and reinstall wheels. (A fee will be charged for All Moto wheel removal and installation). To guarantee delivery of your tires to the rally, go to the web site: www.allmototire.com or e-mail them at allmototire@comcast.net to request a quote. All Moto Tire will send an invoice which can be paid using PayPal or with a personal credit card. Paid orders must be received by July 20, 2009.

Twisties, Dinner and a Star Show - Always a favorite this ride includes a twisty route to Goldendale where you can choose your own spot for dinner. Riders then head up to the Observatory for a star show and a chance to glimpse the cosmos through the largest open-to-the-public telescope on the West Coast.

Catered Breakfast and Dinner on Saturday - Top chefs in the Columbia River Gorge will tantalize your taste buds with great meals on Saturday before and after the Poker run. Vegetarian options are available too.

Ride Board - A posting board will be available for those who want to meet others for rides. Here you'll be able to post your interest in putting together a ride along with the time and day you plan to do it so others can ride with you. It's a great way to meet new acquaintances along the way. Part of the fun of Sportbike Northwest is meeting new people!

Advance Forum is Open Now - Use the Sportbike Northwest Forum (courtesy of PNWriders.com) to meet other riders coming to the rally and plan rides in advance.

200 Mile Poker Run - Saturday's 200 mile poker will make you dizzy with all the twists and turns you'll be enjoying along the route. Don't miss it!

More Clinics - We've got clinics all rally long designed to give you insight into performance riding skills, suspension mods and road maintenance.

Silent Auction - You won't want to miss our Saturday evening program as we dole out the prize money from the days poker run and give you a chance to bid on some great items in our silent auction and door prize event. The silent auction funds our Gorge Kids Explorer Fund in conjunction with the local parks and recreation team.

Stompin Groundz on the Fairgrounds - With the event getting bigger and bigger each year we've been able to lure over one of the best little coffee cart in the Gorge. Carson's Stompin Groundz will be on hand each morning to help you wake up with coffee drinks and healthier breakfast options. They'll stick around throughout the day to provide beverages and healthier lunch choices as well.

Times and events are subject to change. This schedule is constantly being updated. Check back often for the latest.
