Fork seals, fork oil change, resprung front end, and rebound/compression set for my weight. IIRC, right at $400.. He did the work, them I rode home. He calls me the next morning to ask me to check if he had tightened all the bolts. I went and looked, and no, he didn't. All of the front caliper bolts (both sides) were less than finger tight, and the axle pinch bolts were barely touching. He came over to my place on his way to work and tightened them.. He also managed to scrape the fuck out of the finish of my right side bar by rushing the job. I didn't say anything, because my buddy likes him, and the bike does feel great on the new front springs. I'll deal with the unprofessional scrapes and mistakes as long as it works in the end. Fast forward about a month, and less than 1000 miles, and the same fork seal is weeping. If I'd have wanted a half assed, amateur job done, I could have saved all that money and done it myself. I'm really on the fence about contacting him again to have him fix what he clearly fucked up the first time, but I don't think I trust him enough to let him touch my bike again. He could have seriously injured me, or worse, by forgetting to tighten those bolts. |

I would have no problem having him work on any of my bikes. Good price and great service. On the other hand, I had GP suspension in Oregon City work on my DRZ. Never again. Their service was 3rd rate. They didn't leave a good impression on me. Since Dave doesn't seem to be doing the suspension anymore for Fluid Suspension I will most likely give KFG a call when my Tuono suspension needs work. |
