Theres not one piece on my bike that says Harley. My bike is the reason Harley said good bye to Buell.
I asked Sandra to enter her bike last time and she said that the paint was chipped, and she didn't want to. I completely think that she has just as much of a chance as a cruiser to win to best paint...

Today, at Cycle Gear, I saw another Busa that had a blue dragon across it - that was a SUPER NICE paint job, but he was already on his way out, so I didn't get to talk to him.

As for who wins - the planners that I'm working with - three out of four ride sport bikes... However, that doesn't mean we'll be on the panel. IMHO, it would be fair if there are a limited number of judges that half of them ride sport bikes, and half cruisers... And I will bring that up at the upcoming meeting.

If you enter the bike show - you also get to vote on "people's choice". I don't think that we're going to be able to have EVERYONE vote, since the event is getting really big and the news should be there. It'll take too long to tally up everyone's vote. Last time, according to Gwen, there were 100 bikes that entered the show, and it still took over an hour or so to count the votes. I wasn't on the panel, but I saw how long it was taking for them to tally up the votes, and they were doing it was fast as possible.

Funny since the Buell site says every Buell comes with a 2 yr limited warranty from harley and they have a sportster engine in them.

take a look at my bike anytime you like. Unless you think Helicon(Rotax) means Harley you're highly mistaken.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buell_1125R

and like I said MY BIKE IS THE REASON HARLEY DISOWNED BUELL. Due to the bike NOT HAVING A HARLEY ENGINE or any other Harley part.

I can put any cover on a bike and call it something else.Dress up a turd and its still a turd.Buell has a harley based engine with lighter crank and different heads and cams. Now the newer Buells are water cooled rotax engines yes.Buell started out a harley based bike plain and simple. Its a shame that Buell couldnt keep going or that we cant even build a decent US made sport bike. There is the motus, fischer, roehr etc.Look at all the history.

if its a harley based engine then you better tell KTM and Aprilla they are using Harley based engines. And have you not seen Erik Buell's 1190 rs ??

I thought this was a thread about a bike night at Rock the Dock or something?

Does anybody have a time for this thing yet? I have to work that day.

Yes - this is 95% certain. We have a planning meeting tomorrow, so I'll update everyone on exactly what time it starts and ends. So look for updates on Thursday.

For now - Event will be from 4pm-9pm, RTD is open until 2am, and there will be an additional all girl rock band playing inside after our event is over.

BIKE REGISTRATION: 4pm (you can always come earlier if you want, as soon as we're set up, we'll register you), I believe that close of bike registration will be 5:30pm - will give update on that for sure on Thursday.

Auctions/raffles will be done in-between band sets (that's the info I have right now, and I believe it will stay that way).

More raffles/prizes...

Bike show winners to be announced around 8pm (that's totally approximate - since we need to tally up the votes, and that takes a while, especially for "people's choice").

More raffles/prizes/auctions...I think.

Basically, there will be something going on ALL day - until 2am...when Rock the Dock closes.

Hi Everyone,

I have the schedule - but also had a REALLY long day.

EVENT STARTS @3pm goes to 9pm, then after the event, the last band (all girl rock band) will be on stage inside - Venue doesn't close until 2am and it's on Sept 15th - a Saturday.

I'll post the details tomorrow.

If you come, you can vote for "people's choice". ANYONE can win.

AGAIN, IF YOU COME - YOU DO NOT HAVE TO ENTER THE BIKE SHOW TO VOTE FOR PEOPLE'S CHOICE.

NEW CATEGORY: BEST RAT BIKE (SPECIAL TROPHY FOR THAT ONE - THIS ONE'S GONNA BE FUN!)

Bikers Rally Against Road Rage - Event Schedule
Hi Everyone,

I'm soooooo sorry that I spammed the board. I'm still learning how this type of forum works (I'm a total noob - this is the only forum that I've ever been active in - not counting my one facebook group). That was really embarrassing. I had no idea that we're supposed to post events in the "Motorcycle Talk" section. I thought that section was about wrenching... Again, I'm really truly sorry.

But I do have updates:

Event will be from 3pm to 9pm. The venue is Rock the Dock (535 Dock Street in Tacoma).

Bike Show Registration ($10) - starts at 3pm and closes at 4:30pm (if you do come early and we're all set up, we can register you earlier than 3pm)

Bike Show - 4:30pm - 5:30pm

The winners will announced around 6:30-ish. There will a panel of judges (I only know one is from Puget Sound Motorcycles, don't know the rest or how many judges total). The "People's Choice" of course is from votes.

Categories are:

1. Best Sport Bike
2. Best Paint
3. Best Stock
4. Best Custom
5 Best Rat Bike
6. People's Choice

The rock bands will start at 7pm (we'll have music the whole time, but the rock bands will start then). After our event is "officially" over, there will be another rock band that will be playing on the inside stage at RTD. It's an all girl rock band called, "She's not Dead". RTD also doesn't close until 2am either, so it should be a really fun day/night.

I'll keep you guys posted on if anything changes. I know right now, the live drawings (can't say it's a raffle, unless you have non-profit status) is going to be really cool. There will also be a 50/50 live drawing (can't say raffle). I believe it's at the end of the event with the big auction item.

We just made a facebook page for the event:

www.facebook.com/BikersRallyAgainstRoadRage

The event is public, so you can forward it to anyone you'd like to invite. Here's the direct link to the event:

www.facebook.com/events/309686245793923/

Thank you everyone!! Especially those of you who have volunteered, you guys are awesome!!

- Peggy

BTW - If you have any questions, just PM me, and if I don't know the answer, I'll find it for you.

Making sure everyone understands - *this not a Rock the Dock Bike Show*

This is NOT a ROCK THE DOCK BIKE SHOW or EVENT.

I just want to MAKE IT CLEAR that this is BIKERS RALLY AGAINST ROAD RAGE - RTD is just our VENUE. It's not easy to "shop for venues", especially on such short notice and only four people on the planning committee. We picked RTD, since we all knew the layout and we could get started planning everything else right away.

THE BIKE SHOW IS NOT A ROCK THE DOCK SHOW. "BIKERS RALLY AGAINST ROAD RAGE" HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH GWEN'S "BIKE NIGHTS (I, II OR III)".

"BIKERS RALLY AGAINST ROAD RAGE" is a fundraiser for PNWRider, Denise (Squirrel). I am doing the Bike Show with Sandra "She Devil" from Full Tilt.

The suggested donation to enter the Bike Show is $10. Out of this $10, Denise may actually get around $2 - $3 (because of RTD's additional operating costs & renting out the entire parking lot, we have to cover all of that).

So if this is what is keeping you from not wanting to come, meaning, because it's at RTD... AGAIN, THIS IS NOT A ROCK THE DOCK BIKE SHOW or BIKE NIGHT.

There is no fee to come, but *please* enter your bike for Denise. Or you can donate $10 if you want to help out, but don't want to enter the show. There will be a couple people walking around for cash donations for those who cannot make it before the Bike Show, and those that can throw their small bills/change into. We only ask that you donate what you can... Because it could have been any one of us that this happened to. If this was a fundraiser for you personally, how much would you and your friends donate to help you out?

And again, SPORT BIKES QUALIFY FOR ALL CATEGORIES, cruisers do not. If RTD's regular cruisers show up not knowing there is an event going on, we will let them as soon as they get there.

"BIKERS RALLY AGAINST ROAD RAGE" IS NOT ADVERTISED ON RTD's SITE AT ALL.

Here's the latest poster/flyer - more sponsors logos are coming, like Check Twice For Motorcycles, Yelp, Black Tortoise (both piercing and tattoo)... The background is one of Denise's ankles - she has all that metal in her now (five surgeries already, don't know if she'll need more).

FYI - We have GREAT prizes for the live drawings (can't say raffle), including gift baskets, motorcycle custom shop gift certificate worth $150 in labor - Coach purse w/price tag still attached, and more. Sorry, can't give away all the "surprises"... I was shocked and happy at how much people donated when they heard what happened. All the stores I personally went to, donated at least $150 worth of prizes, and this seems to be the trend that I'm seeing happen - local businesses caring, and donating what they can.

Show off your sport bike in the show AND support Denise at the same time! There are six categories, six trophies (winners also get a couple other things).

There will also be a 50/50.

Thank you,

Peggy

YES!!

A friend is selling t-shirts and donating all the money (even what she spent to buy the t-shirts and the printing costs) to the fundraiser. Right now, I don't know how much each t-shirt will be, but in buying one, you will know that every penny you spent on that t-shirt is going towards the fundraiser.

Everyone involved has spent money in advance in order to get this fundraiser going. And we're not asking for any of it back. Our goal is to get Denise some money to cover her bills, have the news emphasis the importance of drivers being more aware of their surrounds, not driving distracted and report how we're rallying together for one of our own.

The expenses that we have to cover: what we owe to RTD (we found out there was additional expenses that we had to cover late last week), and how much it was to rent the entire parking lot.

I forgot to mention the t-shirts, thanks for reminding me!

- Peggy

Thanks for the help!
IF you posted a T-shirt sale on PNWR you will sell a few more! Besides, they would be pre-paid and you would know how many and what sizes ya needed!

Yup! I would personally like to have pre-orders, but I need to ask kitkat, since it's her friend that is doing the t-shirts.

I should have an answer for you by the weekend (since I'm seeing Kitkat later today and tomorrow - it's her friend that's doing it).
