What does it take to give a Duc monster 620 a tune-up after sitting for 1 1/2 years. It has about 14,000 miles on it. I've heard Ducatis have to be taken to the dealer for valve adjustments because it is so difficult. I don't even know if the 620 has the desmo valve train. A friend asked me to help so I thought I would ask if anyone on this forum has knowledge about giving a 620 a basic tune for a low milage. I've done valve adjustments on 80's era suzuki GSs and Moto Guzzis, so I'm comfortable trying it if it doesn't require expensive special tooling. Can this be done at home by someone with descent mechanical skills and basic tools. Thanks for any tips or info you might have.

    Cheers

A few people have helped me bring my '07 695 monster back from the dead. If there is anything you need a hand with let me know.

I have not tackled the valves yet.

    Clint,
    You can start here:
    http://www.ducatitech.com/2v/maint/adjust/index.html

The Haynes manual IS very good and detailed -
That said, I have done a bunch my own wrenching (it IS a DUCK after-all) but have NOT done the valves myself (YET - This winter MAYBE!!)
    Enjoy your Italian Mistress!!
