Aprilia AXV at Double Eagle Pawn?

Discussion in 'Eastside' started by cord4530, Jul 12, 2012.

  1. Anyone looked at the SXV 4.5 that is for sale at Double Eagle Pawn in Spokane? It's an 07 model, so it probably has the grenade engine. But I also heard the 450's didn't have near the problem that the 550's did.

Anyway, I thought I'd ask if anyone had checked it out, and if so did they think it was worth buying, or one to stay away from. Thanks for any info you might have.

  2. It depends, how much are they asking for it?

  3. I saw it on Ebay for $4500. Suposed to have ~5 miles on it. Looking at things like the tires, rear sprocket, etc. this seems plausable. No idea if it's been derestricted or anything yet either.

I can't tell from the pictures if it's the orange or black sealant engine.

Holy cow Bob! I was just checking out your inventory online and it shows you have an RXV 450 with 2 miles for $3600. That seems like a steal compared to the SXV on Ebay!
If I'm headed up to Spokane any time soon I'll have to see if it's still there and come by to check it out.

  4. I am pretty sure you are going to miss out on the RXV at Empire. You should work on that SXV if you want one... I have been talking with Jon about the RXV for quite a while and just today he contacted me to ask when I wanted to come pick it up. I told him to have his guys go through it and get it set up for me. Now that I see this thread I know why he contacted me today!

  5. Congratulations on the new bike! That seems like a pretty incredible deal.

  6. So I finally got down to Empire and picked up my RXV last night, and I see that they ended up with another one in some dealer trade . So EmpireBob has one for you too! Go get it Dr. Dan!

  7. Thanks for the heads up! And congratulations on the new bike too!

I think I've changed my mind about the Aprilia SXV/RXV as possibly not being the right bike for what I planned to use it for. There is no doubt they make tons of power in a lightweight package, but the more I read the more I seem to hear that these are best used for racing and not all that great for commuting and day trips.

No doubt that Bob has a pretty phenominal price on them though! I can't imagine they will stay in the shop for long.
