Can I borrow a compression tester?

Discussion in 'Portland Region' started by Phlebmaster, Aug 15, 2012.

  1. I need to test the compression on my parts bike engine. I would only need it for an afternoon, and I would even let you help me do the compression check on both my engines, the rebuilt engine and the one in my bike now.

    I have an 85 VF500f Interceptor.

My bikes are in Oregon City.......

    Thanks in advance!

  2. I borrowed one from O'Reilleys for free. You don't have anything like that down there?

  3. I do just up the street! I will call them up....thanks for the tip!

It's too bad your so far away, as I have the complete kit with all the threaded fittings. PS I would "Conduct the Procedure" (free of charge)...AJ s:sorrytext:

Me too, I'm stuck smack in between Portland and Seattle. Had one member bring his machine to my shop, and if that's possible the offer stands. PS If'n you were ever traveling through lewis county, give me a shout before you leave. I know some awesome roads...AJ

  7. so did you get it done or are you still in need?

  8. I have not done it yet, busy with work this week. I was planning on doing this tomorrow afternooon. I just need to verify the compression on the rebuilt motor before I swap it in, and check the motor in my bike now to see a comparison.

  9. i can loan you mine. pm me for details about getting it to you.

  10. I have not tried it on a bike yet, but have been using a leak down tester on race motors (V Eight) since the 80's. I do not have a metric adapter yet as I am still making that slow and painful crossover.

  11. it was nice meeting you too.
    glad i could help.
