Craig from Tri-Cities coffee with the Vstrom

Discussion in 'New Users' started by notthatkindofdoctor, Sep 23, 2012.

  1. Hello! Finally posting here using my easier to remember login. I just got my first bike 2 weeks ago and riding is a lot more fun than I even thought it would be. I'll bring my bike to coffee the next weekend that I'm in town for. In the mean time, here's the pic that Cecil asked for! Nice meeting everyone earlier today.

Pretty vanilla right now but I'll be making some modifications this winter. (suggestions for mods welcome!)

Welcome! Extra lights and panniers and what every Strom needs. If that's not your thing, then the Tailgunner is absolutely awesome.

Do you have a custom seat yet?

Welcome! Two of my favorite things, V-Strom's and coffee! 8)

EDIT for Mods: Chop 3" off the shield if your having buffeting issues, luggage if you actually ride past Starbucks.

Almost forgot....have Nels tweak your Fuel map, if he is ever in your neighborhood don't pass up a chance to get your Weeeeee on his mobile dyno 8)

    Welcome,

suggest soft luggage, duffel bag and a sense of adventure.

I'm also going to pay around with lowering links for the rear and drop 10mm in the front for more flat footed.

I lowered mine 3/4 in the back with Kevin Baker Lowering Links, then raised the stantion tubes .750 in the triples to keep the geometry close. Added a KB Fork Brace while I was at it, this is my Weeeee lowered.
