Randy De Puniet did a 1:40.9 on his Ape CRT bike at Jerez in testing yesterday, which is only 1.2sec off the track record!?! Seems like they are getting closer. What if he beats a Duc MotoGP bike?? :stir:

Those Aprilias seem to be pretty well sorted.

  3. What if Aprilia brought the engine of the RS3 Cube from retirement. Bike was shit, but the engine was awesome (240-260 hp at 990cc, Ducati has 250hp), Crt requires prototype chasis, so it still would be legal. That would have probably given CRT teams a real fighting chance.

You know that CRT stands for "Claiming Rule Team", right? And the idea of a claiming rule is that any one of the manufacturers can buy a CRT engine for about $25k at any time during the season? Do you really think that Aprilia wants to sell a Cube angine and it's related technology to Honda or Yamaha for $25k?!? :scratchea I don't think so, besides it would be unlikely that a factory MotoGP engine would be approved as a CRT anyway.

I don't think Aprilia has to worry about ANYONE wanting the Cube engine for $25k.... crackup:
