  1. Cycle Gear currently has this line on sale, for half off. Has anyone tried this gilet? Wondering if it's worth picking up?

  4. Bought some last week. Kept the wind out pretty well. I wouldn't say it kept any warm than any other jacket underneath. The guy at cycle gear told me its not waterproof. I wear a perforated leather jacket. The one major thing I liked but didn't like, the sleeves zip off the jacket. I liked in the fact that you could remove them, but because there is a zipper makes extra material in the area around your shoulder and arm meet.

I'm going to get the baklava to try out. Heck for the price it's worth a try.

  7. I'm a big fan of the cortech synergy heated liners. thin, warm, and relatively cheap. (around 120 for a vest).

  8. Dang that's a little pricey for me. I think I'll give a go on the long johns top & bottom @ half off for my base layer, so long as they are actually windproof. My outer layer is not windproof, but I do not ride in the rain. Thanks for the input everyone, I think it's worth a try.

  9. I haven't heard much about those cortech ones, but I did try on the Gerbings at the cycle show in seattle last year. Super comfy, couldn't feel the wires and got hot as hell quick like a bunny. I learned long ago not to skimp when buying stuff. It might work out "ok" and sometimes could be totally happy, but more often than not I end up wishing I woulda spent a little extra and got what I really wanted in the first place. Then I go ahead and get the right one and have an extra whatever laying around not getting used.

  11. that was the first question I posed to myself. I believe it is a fancy word for vest, however the one featured has an attachable sleeve option.

  12. Given where the quality and construction of their gear has gone, I think it's CG-speak for "at your own risk". I have looked at some of this stuff, and I imagine it's only a matter of time before someone drops some of this stuff off for repairs, and I can get a REAL good look at it. Till then, I'll sit an listen to what y'all have to say.

If it's all you can afford, whaddya do? Been thinking of opening up a discussion about 'affordable' gear for those that don't have a lot of dough.

So I just got the "balaclavas". It was warm. The section for your head could be thinner but I the rest (neck coverage) was nice cus it will tuck into your coat. The face cut out is a little small for me but I have a larger head so it felt different compared to some of the other styles that I have had in the past. Over all for the money 12.99 its worth a shot and I was told if I didn't like it I could take it back.

  14. The BiLT Freeze out gear is covered with a 5 year warranty. So no need for repairs just exchange them :)

  15. I will take a look at that, good info. I have to find ones that don't leave creases from the seams down my forehead.

  16. Auburn is out of the head sock. Getting more in Friday.

  17. IF there is one thing CG has been really good about is their return policy. The only hope is that they don't discontinue the brand or line, then your 5-year warranty will only be good at your local Waste Management Station.

  18. I just got mine yesterday. I wore it under a light fleece jacket and it did a good job keeping the wind from going through. Light weight and comfortable. Sizes run a bit small.

I have had mine since last April. Good stuff! I bought the top, bottoms and, socks.
Don't plan to walk around in the socks. They fit bad.
