    EDMONDS, Wash. —
The Edmonds City Council voted against installing a red light camera system to send tickets to violators.

Councilman Ron Wambolt says he received e-mails from residents complaining the cameras would be a way for the city to make money with $124 fines.

The Everett Herald reports the cameras were rejected at Tuesday's meeting on a 4-2 vote.

American Traffic Solutions says it operates the ticketing for 14 of the 20 cities in Washington with the ticketing system. A vice president, Bill Kroske, said no city is going to get rich off of red light cameras.
