    dizzle WHO is DANE?

As a member of this forum for almost 5 years now, one of the things that I enjoyed immensely in the beginning of my membership was the ability to join in on group rides and meet a lot of new people. Some of these people were people I eventually rode with on a regular basis, some of these people turned out to be great friends who I've become close to, and some have just turned into general assholes who I don't associate with.

Yes, we have bike nights and TWThursdays, etc etc, but 90% of the time you either ride on your own to the end location, and/or ride with a small group by slabbing it.

What I want to do with this is to allow the new members of this forum to meet other people in the surrounding areas (old and new members), as well as learning about the back roads of the pacNW through other members of this forum.

"But Dizzle, I bought a book that shows me all the back roads in WA State, why do I need to go on this?"
Simple answer - you don't. But, it's always helpful to go with someone who knows their way around these areas so you don't get lost and get mauled by a bear or something.

So are we gonna ride or what?
    Patience grasshopper, i'm getting there.

Since I have seen quite the influx in new members in the past few months, some new to motorcycles, some veterans, I still want to invite you all in learning about local back roads that you eventually can enjoy on your own or with a small group of people. So, let's get onto the details.

WHO: Everyone. Literally, EVERYONE. I don't care if you ride a gsxr, an r7, a vespa, a harley, a goldwing, a sumo, a naked bike, whatever, you're invited. I would like to especially invite the people who aren't aware of local back roads and are looking to expand their own knowledge of the awesomeness that surrounds us.

But bro, I already know all the back roads.
    So? Come out anyway.

WHAT: We're gonna ride. I plan on leading the group through the areas that I know on this ride. More details can be found further below.

WHERE: Meet at XXX (98 Northeast Gilman Boulevard, Issaquah, WA). Designated route options (2 options) are shown below. Final end destination is at Juanita Pub (9736 NE 120th Pl, Kirkland WA, 98034).

Official Route (thank you to Andy Capp and Devil_Doc for the suggestions):

    Link to map

    The following route will be:
XXX --> Issaquah / Fall City Road --> Snoqualmie falls --> loop around and go down snoqualmie --> 203 --> Tolt Hill to 202 --> 202 to Ames Lake --> Ames Lake back to 203 --> 203 to Kelly Rd --> Kelly Rd to 203 --> 203 to Ben Howard --> Ben Howard to Highway 2 --> Stop at Chevron and Re-Group --> Take Highway 2 to Old Owen Rd --> Old Owen to 203 --> 203 to Tualco Rd / Crescent Lake Rd --> Crescent Lake Rd to High Bridge --> Re-Group with EVERYONE at the Carhartt Store in Cathcart --> Party train to Juanita Pub.

WHEN: Saturday, May 12th, 2012. KSU @ 2PM (Negotiable, refer to this post for more information) .. Show up whenever you'd like to grab a bite to eat, shoot the shit, whatever.

WHY: Because I want to give back to the community that gave to me and help show the new members where they can enjoy a nice scenic ride on a sunny afternoon by themselves or with a group of people.

YES, this ride is newbie friendly. But, if you JUST bought your ninja 250 or gsxr, and are still learning how to shift properly with using the clutch, keep forgetting that it's 1 down 5 up, and you still have to put your feet down when taking turns, I highly recommend that you head to a parking lot with a more experienced rider first before joining in on this ride.

NO this is not a spirited ride of any sort. But, if there is a large enough group of riders who do know the area that would like to enjoy a more spirited ride but still hang out with the group, please let me know. We can create a "faster" group that will allow for you guys to still get your fun in.

As I said above, I will be leading. Now, if the this turns into a giant parade (20+ bikes), I will start to split up the group into smaller riding groups of 7-10 bikes. Why? Because it's safer that way and the last thing that I want to find out about is that we have to peel someone off the ground because they were distracted by so many riders surrounding them at once. With a smaller group, this means that I will need other people who are willing to lead a small group to our final destination.

I am not responsible for your stupidity. What I am responsible for is asking you to slow it down / tame it down if I feel that you are either 1) riding outside of the comfort of other riders or 2) endangering others and yourself with your antics. Also, this is not a promotion for ATGATT. I would prefer to see you in full race gear for a short trip to the grocery store because I've learned first hand what it's like to crash in full gear. BUT, what you wear is your decision. I will make sure that nobody criticizes you for your choice in gear, I am hoping that you are old enough and mature enough to understand the benefits of wearing the proper gear.

I do not condone speeding. I tend to keep it 5-10 within the speed limit on straights, but kick it up a couple notches in the corners. I do not, I repeat, DO NOT attempt to follow suit if you feel that it is outside of your comfort zone. Please, ride your own ride. As much of a dick I can be on the forum, I will always make sure to keep a head count and will always stop at every stop sign, stop light, and turning point to ensure that everyone is still with us. You will not get lost (unless I get lost).

Please show up with a full tank of gas and any snacks/water/cigarettes/etc that you need for the ride. I will be making one pit stop at a gas station during this ride, but that won't be for a little bit.

I encourage new members of this forum to join in on this. If you're a lurker, please at least post up and say, "yeah, i'll be there" so I can at least get an idea of how many people will be attending so I can plan accordingly. A lot of existing members have been on this ride numerous times, but it's still a fun ride none the less. I want to extend this fun to the people who have not experienced it first hand yet, and also to the people who need a reason to ride on a beautiful sunny day.

Whew, ok I think that's it.

Oh, last thing. If you're interested in helping somehow (lead/sweep/table dancer) please PM me and let me know.

    Ok, i'm done.

    Ok, more shit.

I will be running 3 groups:

    Fast Group:
    Lead: ???
    Sweep: mgfchapin
Do not let the term "fast" deter you. I recommend that anybody who would like to ride in this group either:
    1) Know these roads and/or have ridden these roads in the past
    2) Know how to ride in a group setting (know when to ride staggered/2wide/single form)
I have a feel that some hot heads will shot up, think they're tough shit, and want to run with the fast group. I have no problem with that, but please, do not ride above your comfort level. Like I mentioned, I will have someone leading/sweeping so we won't leave you behind, but I don't want a phone call saying "so and so laid it down". Please, be responsible.

As I said in previous posts, if the number of left over people after a fast group is formed is above 15, I will split the group right down the middle and run 2 groups. I'll leave a 10-15 minute gap between the two groups so that we don't run into each other and have a giant ass group (which I'm trying to avoid in the first place).

    Group 1:
    Lead: Andy Capp
    Sweep: Bluuu

    Group 2:
    Lead: Dizzle
    Sweep: ???
