So I'm thinking of buying a 2008 Nissan Titan Crew Cab short bed and will be taking a road trip when I come home on the 14th and want to take my bike with me.

I was wondering if a sportbike will fit in the back with the tailgate up or down? How tight of a fit is it? I have a 2011 FZ8 btw. Thanks for the help!

How long is the bed? I could fit my ZX-10 in the back of my 06 F-150 with the tailgate up. The bed was 6.5 feet long. F-150's also come with a 5'9" bed, in which a bike would NOT fit in with the tailgate up.

My 11 GMC Sierra 1500 has a 5'9" bed, and a bike will NOT fit in there with the gate up.

I just googled it, it looks like they came with 2 bed lengths.............the long one may work?

I'm sorry I had to be the one to tell you.
We were all sort of hoping you'd realize it on your own.

My bikes dont fit into my truck with tail gate closed (04 Ram quad cab). If your hauling just one bike you can always put it in diagonally in the bed and close your tail gate; I've done it before.

I have the King Cab, not the Crew cab. Misread the post. Still, even with the longer bed I have to cock the back end of the bike sideways to get the tailgate closed.

I really need to find the ramp I have and post it here. It's rated at 1000 lbs, and it folds into your bed extender. No need for two items!!!

I had an 07 Crew Cab traded it in for my 10 Crew Cab LONG bed :mfclap:

You can get 2 full size sport bikes in the regular bed with the gate down, you don't need the bed extender unless you just want it. Moved plenty of bikes in the back of my 07 :evil4:

I own a 2008 Nissan Titan crew cab short bed and I throw my track bike (R6) in the bed all of the time the tailgate will be down if you put your bike in the bed as well. But I never had a problem with it at all and I throw my bike ramp in the bed as well. I just make sure that everything is tied down really well. Its a great truck! First one I ever owned lol I had an Lancer Evo before talk about a huge change lol.

I have a crew cab Titan. I can fit the bikes in the back no problem, and depending on the bike I can get the tailgate to close on some

That will be mighty short, but still might fit. Here is my ZX6R in my old Nissan with a 6' bed and it did not fit without the tailgate being down. One of the reasons I got rid of it for a full size GMC with a 8' bed.

    Slight thread jack:

Any of you guys have any problems or concerns with your titans?

I'm looking for an 04-06 crew cab short bed.. Have read a bit about some issues with 04-05's on a few of the nissan forums.

Tips, tricks, insights? Things to look for on an older truck?

Leaky rear axle seals....only big issue I know of. There was a recall for them, though I think it was only done under warranty.
