How did you find PNWR?

Discussion in 'Motorcycle Talk' started by Thaloc, Aug 11, 2012.

  1. The name says it all. Did you just stumble upon the site surfin' around? Did someone refer you to it?

I was riding home from work, and seen another Buell. He sped up and we pulled off onto a side street. Shot the shit for a mo' and he told me about PNWriders.com and the local Thursday night meetup.

I now dont know how I would make it through a work day without it.... lul

  2. Got refered to it by my brother in '09 when we were riding together. Highsided out on hwy 7, and wasn't active for a few years. Got a new bike a few months ago, and have been active since. I tell most people I run into about it. Some already know, others don't know and check it out.

  3. I was thinking about getting back into
riding and saw a varied group of bikes
    at, of all places, . . . a Starbucks !!!:coffee2:

I got coffee and started talking with
    the most talkative, . . . James1300.

It's been all downhill since then . . . :nana

  4. Was at a track day at ORP last year, ran into the ZRXOA guys who suggested I join up.

  5. I joined the cbr 1000rr forums a couple of months ago. Somebody else on there posted a question asking if there were any Portland area riders. He got a link to this place in response. I followed it.
I thought to myself, this place is all right! Then I found the open forums. Now I'm being negative rep bombed and it's awesome!
Funniest forums I've ever been on.

  6. One of the guys on my Gun forum mentioned PNW and I came and checked it out .

  8. Reported.

Also, I was buying some gloves at a shop in Bellingham and a dude with the same bike showed up. Calls himself Sledrig. We bullshitted a bit and he told me about this site.
That was back when I used the place to look for rides and bike nights, because they were often posted.
    He's not on here anymore.

  9. I went into Full Throttle in Tri Cities one day to see what they had, and the guy behind the counter told me to check this site out.

I was mildly entertained so I stayed.

I was bragging up my new motorcycle on a (now defunct) NW car forum I used to frequent, and one of the members there referred me.

    Now I pester everyone here!

I told beans to create it.

  13. Stumbled crossed it on the search for someone that built a bike like my 500.
In my Google search Red Label Moto (Kie) had said something about it.
Out of all the forums pertaining to particular bikes I signed up for IE; Nsr's, Rvg's, Rg's, Gs's, Cbr's. This was the only one that was local.
Then I found out most of the people I know are already here.

Never did find another bike like mine. Found lots of people wanting to build one but no one did. Kind of funny but I found a Russian site that had the one pic of me on the bike with it running.
All I found was "someone in the States did it" and that was it.

  14. I contracted PNWR from some skank I met in a bar, the doctor told me antibiotics won't work and that there was no cure. I thought it was a support group, boy was I wrong.

Was looking for some way to get in touch with some folks who did not view a motorcycle as a fashion accessory or as the primary transport to the bar, and another member (kept anonymous for their protection) pointed me in this direction.

The witty repartee, friendly banter, and total respect are just a side benefit.
