Not sure I buy that this is actually being made...but hey, it's possible.

May also have the new BMW Dynamic Damping control, which would be the first computer controlled adaptive suspension in the motorcycle market

  2. Neat, but seems like more power is needed if they are going to call it a hot rod version.

    it's supposedly getting more power....and -25 pounds.

In reading the S1000RR forums, concensus seems to be yes, this is going to be made. Dealers know of a release 3rd quarter 2012 and the watercooled R1200GS isn't ready yet, and seeing as the revised 800GS and such just got released, this does seem the likely candidate.

One guy mentioned that it makes sense to have an ultimate model type thing because they are do for a full revision in the next year or two...so this is kind of a swan song for the 2010-2013/14 model.

  4. Well, I really like the current iteration.
That said, 205 simply is not enough horses powers for a bike as heavy as 375lb.
What if a more robust framed rider buys it? It'll barely get out of its own way.

    I like it....
But they'd sell more if they called it an ///M version.

Will this come equipped with transmission destruct assist like the old one?

  10. It's German. It has assist-everything. It wouldn't be a BMW if it didn't go out of its way to help you spend money at a mechanic.

On the other hand, this is great for everyone, even if you don't care about the BMW. It pushes other manufacturers to raise their game.

  12. If this bike came with race-DTC (I know it's adjustable), didn't bother with the electronic suspension crap, and added direct shift linkage, it would be well worth it!

More torque and a tinted windshield, is that really worth a whole new model?!

  15. Now this I can agree with.

and new brakes, and full new suspension (first ever motorcycle dynamic adapting suspension. ) and updated traction control modes, and launch control,

there's a lot of new $$$ parts on this HP4 version than meets the initial glance.

  18. Alpine 318is, eh?

    I've got a Bronzit 325is.
