Laid my bike on Sunday...

Discussion in 'Motorcycle Talk' started by DanielE36, Sep 25, 2012.

  1. Dropped my bike on Sunday on my way to Oyster run in some back road near La Conner.. I lost my footing when i was backing up towards the intersection trying to face the direction of traffic and somehow i slipped and down she went :rant She almost took me with her but i was able to move out of the way as she was coming down, But still got me on my knee and from trying to prevent her from falling i injured my right shoulder...

(No need to panic i checked around but was not able to see any illegal gravel, Checked with local authorities but everything seem to be in place)

No major damage just a few scratches on the fairing some dirt inside the frame slider the throttle was buried in the grass but the brake lever wasn't so lucky it bent backward and snapped..

Oh by the way let me take a moment and Thank a few people for their time:

Thanks to Bent bike in Lynwood for having such great costumer service and one of the only place that's open on Sunday..

My girl for slabbing it from Federal way to Lynwood to meet us there with the brake lever.

Finally 2Dizzy for staying with me after we got back from the ride, Oh and Phil (crash Bandicoot) For helping out as well...
    Few pics..

  5. I don't mean to be a dick, but really? Do you think anyone cares enough for it to be worth your time to post this?

You aren't hurt, and your bike looks near perfect. You have nothing to be upset about. If anything you should be buying me dinner for wasting my time with this post.

  6. Wow Mr. Grouchy...

OP, shit happens. glad it was no big deal.

  7. Wow. Who pissed in your oatmeal this morning? Get out much?

  8. I probably get out more then you, on my motorcycle at least.

What pisses me off is seeing people bitch about shit when they have NOTHING to complain about. I'd go on...but it's pointless. And I recognize that right now my perspective may be a little off.

But for real, how much fun do you think this forum would be to frequent if everyone posted up every time their bike fell over? Or every time they crashed?

  9. I agree with MB2. This would be a normal post in December for this forum, but in September? Really?

  10. I have a sumo so everything that retardedly happens is expected...not allowed to post!

  11. But aren't you bitching for no good reason here, hmmm? It's must be fun enough for you to participate.

  12. Classic, new guy gets big boy bike instead of learning on perfectly good ninjette and drops it because it is too big. Then not so new guy is for some reason pissed because he dropped his bike and fucked up his shit so rips on new guy for having nothing to complain about.

I love this place! I love you guys. Ya gotta chuckle at that. Shit does happen and I'm glad you're all still here to chuckle about it too.

Oh crud, this means you are human. How did you find this den of reprobates and malcontents?

Real classy offering the kudos to all the people who rendered assistance. (Although they are going to bust your chops unmercifully later)

You had better be especially nice to your girl. (I do have 30 years of maintenance experience here, and Admiral Martha has yet to fire me, so I must be onto something.)

Here's a question: who cares about the post that nobody cares about, about the thing that nobody cares about, enough to post a post pointing out that nobody cares?

I bet that guy has some free time.

Oh shit.... but what about the guy that points that out? Existential crisis! :scared

  16. hey, the guy said he didn't mean to be a dick. that removes all responsibility.

and I'm not sure about bike costuming service. but I am intrigued.

  17. Doubt it, but hey who the heck cares? Guess people should be perfect and never post anything on a DISCUSSION BOARD.

Perhaps the OP will launch himself off a 30 foot cliff and lose a body part. Maybe that will be post worthy?

Maybe someone else can LEARN from another person's mistake? Interesting concept eh?

    Carry on...

    Simmer down there, cowboy.

Just because he doesn't yardsale the fuck out of himself and his bike every time he crashes doesn't mean he should avoid posting.

  19. Ouch, you're lucky the brake lever was the worst part! Earlier today I almost dropped my bike on a hill after it stalled. I have no idea how I caught it and lifted it back up, weighs in at 600lbs!
