Saturday, tomorrow. Cougar gas station 9:30, KSU 10:00 AM. Windy Ridge and back hopefully before the traffic gets there!

  2. Isn't Windy ridge closed at the Bear Meadow gate?

  3. I heard it's open to a mile or three from the viewpoint. There's a good way to find out for sure - I'll let you know what the deal is Saturday afternoon.

  5. Thats great. Friend and I were going to do 25 down to Cougar....Woodland then slab it back up to Oly. Looks like we'll need to divert off to Windy Ridge he's never been there. Thanks for the clarification ! Have a great ride and keep an eye out for a blue FJR and silver Sv650.

  6. Damn you guys.... I gotta work tomorrow.:angry7:

Anytime! I'll be on a copper XV1K and the wife has a blue FZ6. Take your time on the roads, they aren't in the best of shape and the rangers like to stop you and "talk" a bit.

  8. Heh, yes we have had few "talks" over the years. Most of them are fairly cool as long as you don't present yourself as an asshat. North end of 25 is getting really bad with the buckles and frost heaves. Everything seems to improve the farther south you get. Are you all coming up through Carson?

Have a great ride and maybe we'll catch up to you at one of the stops.

No, we're coming up through Cougar. It's only about 20 minutes from my house and is a great meeting spot for rides as there is gas, food, and lots of room.

  10. Yeah, yeah, sure you will. Suuuuuure you will.

  11. Rode to work today! Damb its chilly. Lol anyways peejay id like to know where the road is "140 miles of curves" yes please. Lol

  12. California Rte. 36. The sign is right near the eastern end in Red Bluff. The sign is accurate. It's a destination road. I think it's best from east to west but either way it's worth taking the time to ride down there just to ride it. The burger shack at Mad River, about half way, has GREAT burgers and very very good milkshakes.

  13. Windy Ridge is open. I was just up there last weekend.

I may join you guys. Haven't seen you all summer!

  14. You bastards. I have to take back the bike I've been riding at the same time you'll be at Cougar. I so would have been in for this otherwise. Have a safe ride.

  15. Was up there last month and it looked like they were putting the finishing touches on the culvert and the target reopen date was today actually.

Edit: not gonna make it today. Have fun

OK Brett and Stacey, let me get this strait. You want us to get up early in the morning on Saturday; get on our motorized velocipedes; and ride up a nasty, twisty road with great alacrity? All whilst having a song in our heart, a smile on our face, and a tank full of ethanol free? :scratchea

  18. Yep, pretty much :mfclap:

    OK, just checking.

  20. I rode 25 all the way up to Randle Friday afternoon. The new bridge is in/finished. 99 is open all the way to the Windy Ridge parking lot, but the last mile or so has alot of sand/rocks on the road so you need to slow way down once past the last viewpoint before Windy Ridge.
