This is to remember what a great guy Mike was. These were taken hours before his death. He really loved motorcycling, and posted more rides in the kitsap area than anybody. He will sincerely be missed in our community either with riding or his willingness to come over and help out, with anything, if needed. Mike(fsu) and Rick (R.W.) were the first ones I met from this forum that took me on some of the best rides I can remember.

    Remembering Mikefsu:

  8. Below are just a few of my favorite pictures from the last four years.

This is a picture of how Mike wakes up on a road trip. How can you not have a good time with a unique character like this on such epic journeys

The first picture was from the beginning of the day. This picture was at the end of the same day. Same big smile that kept everybody loose during the 500-600 mile days

The next two are just pure horseplay pictures. These pictures were taken in the same 24 hour day as the as the previous two.

This is the picture that started our friendship. It was the famous "Orangy 13" ride and Mike's first PNW ride. I remember giving him a hard time for finishing a 1/2 pound cheeseburger with fries in under five minutes. Never before have I seen such speed eating. That ride will always rank up there as one of my favorite rides because I met two of my best friends that day. Brad & Mike

This might be the only picture I have of Mike not smiling. This picture was taken at the end of 120 mile dead straight road (Hwy 97)from Bend to Klamath Falls. The intense look on this face was solely brought on by that god forsaken boring road

  9. Rest in peace mike,

    you will not be forgotten,
i wish i can post our awesome ride up to princeton b.c. with brad, but i left my other computer overseas.

  10. I had the pleasure of sharing a meal with Mike once at a rider's dinner. A fun guy and gave me great insight on the "male bonding" that goes on while on those long deployments away from home.

  11. Son of a gun!
Heard about this from a coworker of all things.

RIP Mike. Only met ya a couple times at meets, but I recognize the smile for sure.

  13. That pic is why Emily & I called him Panty Boy. I don't know how to search the archived threads on here but I know where some nice pics are of him in an 07 thread & the granny panty pic is from 08.

He couldn't decide which one would go better with his outfit. He had my daughter rolling on the floor thinking that he was going to carry one of her purses around outside. Knowing Mike ~ he would have, just to make her giggle.

  16. Damn, I didn't know him, I'm too new, but seeing all these pics and hearing your guys' stories makes this real tough. RIP Mike.

it was an intense ride. Mike ended up with a flat front tire, we filled it with co2 canisters. he rode more then a few miles with it around 18psi. got it filled without issue and finished the journey(quickly).

Great to see the photos, Rowlex. I remember hearing about that ride. I was really glad that you guys were able to help him. The funny thing about that tire is that Mike kept riding on it, and it never lost air again.

I had wanted to post some photos too, but I couldn’t get myself together right after the accident to take care of it. I guess I’ll post some now.

This morning ride of Hwy 20 was one of the best – warm, dry, and no traffic to speak of. If there hadn’t been so many cars going the other way, we would have gone back to Winthrop and done it again. :)

Mike’s son doesn’t ride so this is the closest that they came to riding together. Mike was slamming the bike from side to side to make it follow the track on the screen.

    Like father, like son

When our friend’s wife wanted to surprise her husband with a bike for his birthday, Mike helped her find it, look at it, haul it home in his truck, and hide it in our garage until his birthday. On the day of the birthday party, we took the gift bike and Mike’s bike out to their place. It was a great surprise.

“The rest of the story” is that a guest at the party drank ¾ of a bottle of whiskey, jumped on the new bike, and dropped it before the birthday boy got to ride it. Talk about a party foul.

Mike's just out of the frame to the right in the first photo.

    And some non-motorcycle photos

Mike and I were regulars at the spin classes at the Y. One night Mike jokingly told the instructor that she had way too many Brittney Spears songs in her mix. So…she started calling him “Brittney”, and the name stuck. From that night forward, he was known as Brittney, which always got a big grin from everyone, him included.

Shrimping with our friends on the Hood Canal. On this particular day, they forgot the pot puller and the hook so Mike got lots of exercise.

And because he was never one to shy away from dressing up, here are a few Halloween pics.

As Elvis and Cleopatra in 2009. There’s a whole group of friends who still call us Elvis and Cleopatra.

As the “Shotty Scotty” in 2010. There are 3 shot glasses hanging off the sash, and of course, he had to get a bottle of scotch to finish off the costume.

And a few of my favorites of us…

At the 2011 Rottweiler Bikes Garage Party. They had the photo booth set up for shorter people so we laughed and scrunched down to fit.
