Next Adventure Ride from Empire

Discussion in 'Eastside' started by EmpireBob, Jul 30, 2012.

  1. OK, the snow's finally gone, and we're ready to ride. The next Adventure Ride will be on Sunday, August 12th. Same as before, we'll meet in the parking lot at Empire Cycle & Powersports at 8:30, fill out waiver forms and get safety briefing, and leave at 9:00 sharp. Be sure you're gassed up ahead of time, and I suggest you bring some water, never know how dry or warm it will be. We'll stop for lunch at some restaurant, so don't worry about food. I'll find out from our Trailmaster where the ride will be going this time, and post it here and on our website. The riding will not be technical, mostly logging roads and maybe some ATV tracks. Bring your dual-sport and let's get dirty! (Maybe Kevin will bring his cruiser:nana)

Although the 250 would probably be just fine.

Hey, Fred! Gotta bike I can borrow?

Do you know what the CM250C is? It's a standard bike (a baby cruiser) with about 3" of suspension. Probably shake my teeth out!

    Although it is pretty light.

I don't see a problem in regards to his skills, these are not technically challenging runs, we often have inexperienced dirt riders along (myself included), and we take it slow and easy through any rough areas and wait for everyone. His machine will be lighter also, and better suited for the logging roads than some of the heavy Beemer 1200's that come along. In regards to fuel, the runs, counting both street and trail time, seem to average around 100 miles, and if he gets low, he can always gas up at the end of the trail ride before riding back to Spokane. Depending where we eat lunch, there may also be a gas station by the restaurant. - Bob

    All skill levels!
Spoon some Dual Sport tires on the lil Honda, Kevin!

  8. What's with you guys? All these dual sports, dirt bikes and adventure bikes and only a handful even respond? What's with you guys - find out how great it is to get a bit off the beaten path and see some areas that few people ever get to see first hand.

    Try you'll love it

  9. *cough cough* you've never been riding with me on the viffer have you steve? I've been on some single track with her

  10. Great - didn't see you signing up for the dual sport adv ride - just prompting some activity for Bob who is gracious enough to organize these things

Sadly I/m out of commission about now -

  11. I/m Mr Naive - share with me what is the viffer? :)

  14. Just a recap - our trailmaster says that we will be up in the Bunko area, and we will ride over to some abandoned mines and explore around that area. Schedule as follows:

7:30 - Those who want to, can meet over at Jenny's Cafe up the street from the dealership. Her address is 9425 E. Sprague Ave., on the North side of the street. Good food, quick, and a big parking lot, perfect combo.

8:30 - Meet at the dealership, for instructions and to sign liability release forms (attorneys, gotta love them). Be sure you are gassed up.

9:00 - Leave for the ride.

We will spend a long morning riding, come back down for a late lunch, and then head back to Spokane. Suggest you bring water, as it will be warm (the contingent coming up from the Tri-Cities may not think so, they know what real heat is), and dress cool. Looking like there will be a good-sized turnout, let's get dirty! (especially Kevin!)
