  1. So got my very first bike home lastnight, buddy of mine was nice enough to ride it down from North Everett last night.

Not sure how to insert photo's here yet but my Avatar is the bike, now I was wondering what others have done with a gladius? I have read around online, I like the way it looks, just my opinion and I might be biased crackup:

I'm thinking Fender eliminator and remove those stupid plastic frame covers right off and I did order a GSXR rear shock, they are cheap but after that? I'm new at this so I hope I'm not suffocating anyone with my newbness :scratchea
  2. first off welcome .. second ride it before you start modding it

Don't fiddle around with it until you go through at least one set of tires.

As for posting pictures, check this out.
  4. Congrats on your first bike!!
  5. Yes, I'm mostly just fiddling with how it looks, I only bought the shock because it was available and new(ish) it will go in the garage for later.

And riding through a set of tires sounds like a good plan.
  6. I am liking the Monster-like FRAME...
Welcome aboard - and hold on - could be a bit of a rough ride on this forum!!
AS with the others here - Learn your bike and then MOD as you figure out the weak links...
Most of all - have fun!
  7. Well, my dream bike is a Triumph Street triple R... ALMOST bought the one that was up for sale a couple weeks ago.... and then sanity returned. I just like the naked bike look, love ducati's too, just a little outside what I can justify for my new passion LOL
  8. Good for you! What did it set you back?
  9. Welcome, word of warning, there's good peeps on here just make sure to have thick skin and don't take anything personally. I agree run through a set of tires before you mod.
  10. Welcome to the PNW! Sit back and enjoy the show
  11. Yes, welcome. Enjoy the new bike. Your going to earn your stripes going into winter as a new rider.. Be careful out there. And +1 on running through a set of tires before you start to mod.

Congrats, great bike, but be careful in this weather.
  13. Benefit of riding through one set of tires before you change anything is because you will get a base line...

I too love the look of naked bikes and cafe racers, Street fighters...But without plastic fenders you lose what little protection from wind/elements you have on a bike and that can make riding miserable.

For me its a no brainer...Full fenders regardless of look...(unless you get two bikes)
  14. Welcome and congrats on the bike!

Im sure you will enjoy it..

It just needs some ghost flames...
  16. Congrats and welcome. +1 on what Texasl said. As much as I love my Street Triple R, I'd be a little hesitant on recommending it as a first bike. IMO you made the right decision going with the Gladius.

I think you mean "fairings"? Naked bikes still have fenders. :secret:
