Yeah, It went from sunny to thunderstorms to partially cloudy in like three days. Translation: they don't know. Fingers crossed
Just signed up and paid for the 28th for what will be my last track day of the year. Will be trying out a new set of tires, as I'm swapping out my old worn Metzeler K3 for a new pair of Pirelli Supercorsa SP tomorrow.
Was a great day, and awesome weather. Moved up to 300 and had lots of fun. Thanks to 2Fast for an exciting year at the track.
Perfect weather. What a great day!!! Can't wait to see Jason T's pics. Does anyone know who the guy taking pics in the Yellow vest was? He was up against the wall most of the day. Again, thanks to all the 2 Fast Staff!!! Every event I did with 2 Fast this year was great
He was a private photog for someone. His photo's shouldn't be available or posted. JayT should have his photo's up pretty soon. He's been good about that all year.
Does anyone know who the person riding the olive green 250 in the 300-level was? I think I can learn some things from them...
Yup, father and son that are racing those 2-fiddies in WMRRA. They come out to a lot of our track days as well. Glad you had fun out there!
Massive thanks to all the staff at 2-Fast for another amazing event, some random thoughts now that I've had a day to process them: 1. Mark now holds the Crown for best riders meeting giver (I was always a big fan of Mario with AF and MikeM with NESBA but Mark now deserves it for his blend of humor, candor, speed, and P.A. system). 2. KFG Racing - Barry and JJ are lifesavers, support these guys folks and lets make sure they have a reason to stick around. 3. The Ridge just plain rocks - amazing track. 4. StevieB & Donny - you guys took some personal time to come work with me and I really, really appreciate your feedback and help. Without sounding like too much of a fanboy, I just wanna say that it's awe-inspiring to watch you both out there and to see the progress you've both made this year. Can't stress enough just how fortunate Mark is to have you two along with Jesse (thanks again for the stand, I owe ya) Rob, Mike, and so many others on staff. 5. $2,000 ebay parts bin special track bikes can be super fun! 6. Coffee and Mexican food vendors better be there again next year! 7. Why was there a Diavel out there in 300 group literally doing 40mph through T1 at the end of the day? I wasn't out there but my pit mate almost ran off the track avoiding him through there... Just curious as apparently it was a consistent thing, not just a one off slow lap. 8. Dunlop Q2's are like... crazy, ridiculously good tires. I think according to Donny I was doing 1:51's on them and they never gave me a moment on either day. Unbelievable how good they are for a "street" tire. 9. Really nit-picking here but...it might be nice for Mark to give a quick shout out to the Canadians who travel long distances, brave border guards, the I-5 ca-dunk, ca-dunk, ca-dunk, and put up with weak beer to make the trek down and support the Ridge and 2-Fast. I was part of a group of 15 from the Victoria area and I think there was at least that many from the rest of BC. Us Victorians spend roughly $250 each just to get there and back and Rob from Motofit always makes sure to say a quick thanks in acknowledgement of that and trust me, it doesn't go unnoticed. 10. See you all again in the Spring! :mfclap:
7- it took a few laps but i believe we black flagged him. as far as i know he was a 300 rider borrowing that bike.
Friday was another really fun track day event, was my first time running in the 300 level. It was much nicer riding conditions than my previous events running in the 200 level, less crowded with a faster overall general pace. Was nice to pit with and ride the track with some of the new track day friends I made this past year as well.
We were pitted right near them and didn't see them all day long and wondered why. So one of the last sessions I waited and saw that they held back and went out with the tail end of the grid. Went out right behind them. Those two were awesome. Railing around the corners, I couldn't keep up. Seeing the two of them haul ass through 2 to 6 just made me laugh out loud. Took me a couple laps to get them on the straight. Mystery solved. I was bummed my camera was crapping out on Friday and I didn't get video.
Thats Jack and John, Jack is only 14 I believe. Got to know them pretty well between the OMRRA and WMRRA races they attended this year. Very good people and fast as shit on the lil bikes!
had an absolute blast!!! rocked 300 level and it was definitely a humbling experience to be walked past but I really enjoyed the pace. Anyone know how our one rider who rode the flashy bus out is doing? I don't if this is bad conduct to ask here I was just curious since he was just infront of me when it happened and the last thing I saw was that he was riding it out smooth... didn't expect it to go from bad to worse. here's a couple pics too:
Sorry for the delay. Had a busy weekend shooting Tough Mudder, which by the way is awesome! Saw a few of you folks out there too!!! Sorry if we couldn't chat. Had to keep shooting. Photos are uploading today and hope to have them available late tonight.
