Should I buy this 1000RR?

Discussion in 'Motorcycle Talk' started by wonton, Oct 18, 2012.

  1. I didn't see a year listed, but it is a 2007 or older. So I don't know if the asking price is inline with the market. Seems a little high to me, especially for someone who needs it gone today.......

  2. I wouldn't buy anything from someone who can't even put what year the bike is.
  3. Or the current miles...
  4. Do you guys have a used bike buying guide put together? I'm new to the forum.
  5. That bike has been on there for a long time. Paint and mods aren't worth the price.
  6. This would be much better bike for you then my clean R6. You should jump on it

If you really know so much about bikes then why are you asking these stupid questions.

    IIIYou asked so:
    1. The paint is fine, (if you like that sort of scheme) but plan on being a very good boy, as a plate number is not needed. I could explain if interested.
    2. In most cases clean stock is worth more, one can check stock values at
    3. By the look of his "Chicken Strips" he hasn't been railing.
    4. In the end it's what "You" like/want, if you want, make the dude an offer ($4700.00 * check title carefully) after a through inspection by a mechanic/PNW member who knows...AJ

No mileage or year listed? Keep looking....OP wants too much, it's been listed for a long time, which means OP is most likely firm on price or is hiding something title wise.

    In short, don't buy it.

Very Good Point, Never ever match that paint...AJ
  11. Looks like an 05, but it's hard to tell with that god-awful paint. Not worth it. Looks like the bargain bin at a bike store vomited on it.
  12. personally, I won't hit this. too colorful for me--LOL
  13. As eyecatching as the paint is, it's just paint. Anyone but me notice the frame and the fairing below it on the rt side?
Already said, but NO miles or yr=he is just fishing.
  14. The bike has been laid down. Skip it.

ON the right side? Those are factory welds and factory frame....not an issue.

However, I would be VERY concerned with what's under the sticker on the left hand side. (as you sit on the bike)
  16. Those aren't factory scratches on the right side of the engine.

Right below the gas tank, are those creases in the frame supposed to be there?
