So I had my tires mounted at cycle barn and they accidently mounted the front on backwards. I've been riding it a bit but here's my question. I can't get it fixed till thursday. How much can it take while installed wrong. My guess is not quite as much as when correct but not a huge difference. Either way I'm guessing it will have more grip then my stock tire. Anyone know how much it can handle?

    Dont push it at all.
Ride it EZ, if you must, until you can get it swapped.
Theres directional arrows on there for a reason.

I wouild ride the bike in there and throw the biggest shit fit and make them take the tire off the bike and do it right. Also make them give you some free shit for fucking up and waisting your time. If they offer something like a free oil change say great but I wouldn't trust your monkeys to change my oil when they have proven they can't even install a tire right. Then say my luck they wouldn't tighten the drain plug and I have already risked my life once having you fuckers work on my bike.

I hate lynnwood cycle barn for many reason and this is just one of them. Smokey point is semi better but that's not saying much

It should be alright. did they say not to ride the bike? If anything happens like a crash or any other issues blame it on the mounting  or do what bri mentioned. Raise holy hell for it and also ask for a new tire cause I wouldn't trust them things. Be sure to ask them to add summer air aight!

Funny. Although I have never had a problem with the tire on backwards. The main thing with the arrows is that the tread pattern to remove water from the tire is going in that direction. I actually ran a tire on the track with it on backwards. No worries no slipping. In the rain I would say there would be a higher chance of getting some hydroplaning action going on. Take everything people say with a grain of salt. THis is the internet by the way. Everybody is a expert.

seriously, go in their nicely first and ask 'em to change it back, and if they start giving lame excuses, slowly start throwing a shit fit. if they don't do it for free, definitely throw in a shit fit.

you get a lot more done when you're nice, and people aren't tempted to screw you over. in fact, i bet if you were super polite about it, they'd throw in some free some for you, anyway.

    can you ride wheelies?

I would ask for a new tire in general, its seems like i was told some where that once you start a wear pattern it will always be that wear pattern even if you correct the problem that made it start a bad one?? I would assume that applies in this case too??

But i definatly would ask for a new tire, and some money back for what you paid their "certified" techs to do wrong...

    Good Luck

I would expect a new tire and at your convience. It's their f*ck up and your paid them good money to do it right! :rant How much more of a basic mistake can you make?

They should at least go out of their way to make you happy and possibly throw in some kind of extra(s). You shouldn't/I wouldn't be too polite about this (but don't go stark raving mad either).

Arrows are for tread...water displacement. I'd think you would be fine until you can get them to do it right. You should still throw a bit of a tantrum because they're wasting your time and they should know better than to do some stupid shiz like mounting tires backwards.

To clarify: I bought these tires online and was having them mount them because I'm to busy to deal with it right now. They're fixing it Thursday because that's when it works for me. I'm going to see if they'll give me half my money back or mount my next set for free or something. I think they know its a stupid f up.
