Posting this in the Westside as this is directed toward any rider who rides a motorcycle into Downtown Seattle...

A reporter from a local news site is writing a story on the City of Seattle's approach to motorcycle transportation policy and is conducting a quick survey of PNW Riders who ride their motorcycle into Downtown Seattle.

Please take a moment and respond:

    --

1 - How often do you ride and park a motorcycle into the downtown area of Seattle?

    a. More frequently than 1 time a week (weekly)
    b. More frequently than 1 time a month, but less than weekly (monthly)
    c. Once every few months (once in awhile)
    d. Rarely or never (don’t usually ride into downtown Seattle)

2 - Which of these ideas would be likely to increase the number of times you ride your motorcycle into downtown Seattle? (check all that apply)

    a. More parking spaces that are dedicated to motorcycles
    b. Lower parking rates for motorcycles
    c. Access to routes for “high occupancy” vehicles such as bus lanes, 3rd Avenue etc.
    d. More places such to change and store riding gear such as locker facilities
    e. Other (please enter your ideas)

    --

Thanks! Your help would be greatly appreciated, and I'll post up the article as soon as it runs in the next week.

2 e , share bicycle lane with equal ability to disregard traffic lights and other laws

Have a special free moto 5x10 (or bigger) space every 2 to 3 blocks for motos.

2-b very low rates. as i take up an 10th of the space of a car but pay the same rates? let me park for free on the sidewalks! bikes do it and they are only a little bigger then me!

When I was in London, I noticed that most of the motorcycle parking was equipped with lugs embedded in the pavement you could chain your bike to. Parking is one thing, having the ability to at least attempt to secure your bike would also be helpful.

  16. a.

a,b,c. E is pie in the sky dreaming, but allow motorcycles to use the filter forward green spaces that are currently reserved for bicycles (I just read some of the other responses, this filtering/sharing idea seems to be a theme...).
